00:00:00--> 00:00:01

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:00:02--> 00:00:04

sent to them because of their transgression, of

00:00:04--> 00:00:06

course, a chilling,

00:00:06--> 00:00:07

raging,

00:00:07--> 00:00:08

roaring

00:00:08--> 00:00:09

wind

00:00:09--> 00:00:10

that penetrated

00:00:11--> 00:00:13

these rocks that they thought could never be

00:00:13--> 00:00:15

broken. And Allah

00:00:16--> 00:00:17

left

00:00:17--> 00:00:21

them in their destroyed and wretched. SubhanAllah. InshaAllah,

00:00:21--> 00:00:23

we will be with our children in al

00:00:23--> 00:00:24

Firdos inshaAllah.

00:00:24--> 00:00:26

It's a promise from Allah that we will

00:00:26--> 00:00:28

strive to raise them upon the mandate that

00:00:28--> 00:00:29

Allah

00:00:30--> 00:00:32

has set. We will make du'a for them.

00:00:32--> 00:00:34

We will teach them the Quran. We will

00:00:34--> 00:00:36

teach them the sunnah. We will show them

00:00:36--> 00:00:38

right as right, and wrong as wrong. And

00:00:38--> 00:00:40

we will empower them to be upon the

00:00:40--> 00:00:40

right irrespective

00:00:41--> 00:00:43

of society for the sake of Allah subhanahu

00:00:43--> 00:00:44

wa ta'ala.

00:00:44--> 00:00:48

And we will entice them with the knowledge

00:00:48--> 00:00:50

that when we die, my dear son and

00:00:50--> 00:00:52

my dear daughter, if you live upon this

00:00:52--> 00:00:55

mandate, then my death and my departure is

00:00:55--> 00:00:57

not a full stop, it's just a comma.

00:00:58--> 00:00:59

We begin in the name of Allah subhanahu

00:00:59--> 00:01:01

wa ta'ala, and we request praises and blessings

00:01:01--> 00:01:04

upon Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

00:01:05--> 00:01:06

May

00:01:07--> 00:01:08

Allah accept our deeds,

00:01:09--> 00:01:11

accept our worship thus far of the 25th

00:01:11--> 00:01:12

night,

00:01:12--> 00:01:14

an odd night from the last 10 nights,

00:01:15--> 00:01:15

possibly

00:01:16--> 00:01:19

the night of decree and virtue and power,

00:01:20--> 00:01:21

a night better than 1000

00:01:23--> 00:01:24

months.

00:01:26--> 00:01:27

And like I said,

00:01:28--> 00:01:28

irrespective

00:01:29--> 00:01:31

of of our feelings thus far, we pursue

00:01:32--> 00:01:35

our worship of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala during

00:01:35--> 00:01:36

the odd and the even as per the

00:01:36--> 00:01:37

tarbia,

00:01:37--> 00:01:38

the guidance

00:01:39--> 00:01:40

of the Sharia. Alhamdulillah.

00:01:41--> 00:01:43

Allah wants to reward us for later qadr

00:01:44--> 00:01:45

and muh, alhamdulillahrubillahalamin.

00:01:46--> 00:01:48

Today my brothers and sisters in Islam, we

00:01:48--> 00:01:49

completed

00:01:50--> 00:01:51

Surat Al Akaf,

00:01:52--> 00:01:53

Surah Muhammad,

00:01:54--> 00:01:54

Surah Al Fati,

00:01:55--> 00:01:56

Surah Al Fajarat,

00:01:57--> 00:01:58

Surah Al Khaf,

00:01:58--> 00:01:59

and masha'Allah,

00:02:00--> 00:02:02

Surah Al Dariyat. I didn't even know this

00:02:02--> 00:02:03

is going to happen. The imams

00:02:04--> 00:02:06

are are going ahead of me even, subhanallah.

00:02:06--> 00:02:08

They don't inform me, but

00:02:08--> 00:02:10

just so you know, the Tarawi was longer

00:02:10--> 00:02:12

because they read longer than the Jews.

00:02:13--> 00:02:16

Insha'Allah, tomorrow I will cover with you all,

00:02:21--> 00:02:22

Suratul Akhaaf,

00:02:23--> 00:02:26

continuing with what we started with a couple

00:02:26--> 00:02:27

of nights ago, the Hawamim.

00:02:29--> 00:02:31

Surat Al Akhaaf is a Maqan Surah

00:02:32--> 00:02:34

consisting of 35 verses,

00:02:35--> 00:02:35

and

00:02:37--> 00:02:39

as per the genre of knowledge in the

00:02:39--> 00:02:43

Maqqan Suras, we see this genre continuing through

00:02:43--> 00:02:44

in Al Aqaf

00:02:46--> 00:02:48

and even the other Maqk and Surahs that

00:02:48--> 00:02:49

we discussed today.

00:02:50--> 00:02:50

And Allah

00:02:51--> 00:02:53

throughout these Maqk and Surahs

00:02:53--> 00:02:55

is bringing together the misconceptions of the

00:02:56--> 00:02:57

idolaters,

00:02:58--> 00:03:00

the different misconceptions they had because even the

00:03:00--> 00:03:03

idolaters were at different levels in terms of

00:03:03--> 00:03:03

the idolatry,

00:03:04--> 00:03:05

and they all had

00:03:06--> 00:03:07

different misconceptions

00:03:07--> 00:03:08

that they used to justify

00:03:09--> 00:03:10

their idol worship.

00:03:11--> 00:03:13

The Makkan verses

00:03:13--> 00:03:16

brings together all these different ideas that they

00:03:16--> 00:03:16

had,

00:03:17--> 00:03:19

and not only does it bring it together

00:03:19--> 00:03:20

but it dismantles them.

00:03:21--> 00:03:23

It dismantles all these narratives.

00:03:24--> 00:03:26

Tonight, in your worship of Raylatul Qadr, if

00:03:26--> 00:03:26

you

00:03:27--> 00:03:30

swiftly read through the translations of what we

00:03:30--> 00:03:32

read tonight, you will and even other Maqan

00:03:32--> 00:03:34

Surahs, you will see this predominantly and manifestly

00:03:35--> 00:03:35

present.

00:03:36--> 00:03:39

That there's a coming together in different Maqan

00:03:39--> 00:03:39

chapters

00:03:40--> 00:03:41

of the different

00:03:42--> 00:03:43

non religious,

00:03:44--> 00:03:45

ideology based

00:03:46--> 00:03:49

narratives that are used to justify this falsehood,

00:03:49--> 00:03:52

and then also there's a dismantling of them.

00:03:52--> 00:03:53

And this dismantling of them

00:03:54--> 00:03:56

comes to us in the form of

00:03:57--> 00:03:57

revealed

00:03:58--> 00:03:59

evidence, which is testimony,

00:04:01--> 00:04:02

and also

00:04:02--> 00:04:03

rational

00:04:03--> 00:04:04

evidence.

00:04:04--> 00:04:05

That even if we put

00:04:06--> 00:04:07

the Quran aside,

00:04:07--> 00:04:09

and put the messenger aside for those who

00:04:09--> 00:04:11

refuse to accept

00:04:11--> 00:04:12

Muhammad as the messenger

00:04:15--> 00:04:17

and the Quran as the revealed

00:04:17--> 00:04:19

final testament and word of God Almighty,

00:04:20--> 00:04:21

then just objectively

00:04:22--> 00:04:23

listening to the narrative

00:04:24--> 00:04:26

would lead you to a rational conclusion that

00:04:26--> 00:04:28

what you upon doesn't make sense.

00:04:29--> 00:04:30

In the least,

00:04:30--> 00:04:33

even if you argue that you cannot prove

00:04:33--> 00:04:35

that there's a God, and obviously this argument

00:04:35--> 00:04:37

can only be

00:04:37--> 00:04:38

because of arrogance.

00:04:39--> 00:04:40

You cannot deny

00:04:41--> 00:04:44

that the that the narratives used to justify

00:04:44--> 00:04:45

idolatry and falsehood

00:04:46--> 00:04:47

is irrational.

00:04:47--> 00:04:50

If someone is objective and they refuse to

00:04:50--> 00:04:51

affirm God Almighty

00:04:51--> 00:04:52

using their mind,

00:04:53--> 00:04:55

if the objective they will be able to

00:04:55--> 00:04:58

deny the rational nature of the evidences they

00:04:58--> 00:05:00

garner together to justify what they do. So

00:05:00--> 00:05:01

in the least

00:05:01--> 00:05:03

if this is false, then what you're doing

00:05:03--> 00:05:04

as well is false.

00:05:04--> 00:05:07

So you see this present in the Maqan

00:05:07--> 00:05:07

verses.

00:05:08--> 00:05:10

And as we said earlier, Allah brings it

00:05:10--> 00:05:12

to us in the form of a narrative

00:05:12--> 00:05:15

and also through the form of stories that

00:05:15--> 00:05:17

consolidate the meanings of the narrative.

00:05:18--> 00:05:18

Ro Muhammad,

00:05:19--> 00:05:20

and all people

00:05:20--> 00:05:21

who are denying Muhammad,

00:05:22--> 00:05:24

the play that you are engaged in, this

00:05:24--> 00:05:26

play has happened before.

00:05:26--> 00:05:29

A 100 years, 200 years, 500 years, a

00:05:29--> 00:05:32

1000 years, 1500 years, 3000 years. The play

00:05:32--> 00:05:34

is on repeat. The only difference is

00:05:34--> 00:05:36

the stakeholders of the play.

00:05:36--> 00:05:38

The actors of the play, if I may

00:05:38--> 00:05:39

use the term.

00:05:39--> 00:05:42

The names are different, but the idea is

00:05:42--> 00:05:43

the same. Messenger

00:05:44--> 00:05:46

came, messenger preached a message that was simple,

00:05:46--> 00:05:48

it could be understood by everybody, and a

00:05:48--> 00:05:52

people because of arrogance turned against them. And

00:05:52--> 00:05:54

they used as their evidence the fact that

00:05:54--> 00:05:55

their forefathers

00:05:55--> 00:05:58

were involved in this, or why are you

00:05:58--> 00:06:01

more special than us? If this is a

00:06:01--> 00:06:02

special if this is the truth, then we

00:06:02--> 00:06:04

would have been upon it before you came,

00:06:04--> 00:06:06

and again this is from arrogance as well.

00:06:07--> 00:06:10

So this we see present in Surat Al

00:06:10--> 00:06:10

Aqaf.

00:06:11--> 00:06:13

Why is Surat Al Aqaf called Surat Al

00:06:13--> 00:06:13

Aqaf?

00:06:14--> 00:06:17

It's called Suratul Akhaaf because of the dwellings

00:06:17--> 00:06:19

of the people of Ad.

00:06:21--> 00:06:23

The dwellings of Ad in Yemen,

00:06:24--> 00:06:26

and they were the people of Hud, alayhis

00:06:26--> 00:06:27

salam, the people that Allah

00:06:28--> 00:06:30

sent Hud, alayhis salam to. Allah

00:06:32--> 00:06:32

says,

00:06:34--> 00:06:35

Remind them, oh Muhammad,

00:06:36--> 00:06:38

the people who are denying you now, remind

00:06:38--> 00:06:39

them of Aqa'ad,

00:06:40--> 00:06:41

brother 'ad.

00:06:43--> 00:06:44

And in other

00:06:44--> 00:06:46

verses in the Quran,

00:06:47--> 00:06:48

Allah describes

00:06:49--> 00:06:50

Hud

00:06:51--> 00:06:53

as the brethren of the people he went

00:06:53--> 00:06:53

to.

00:06:54--> 00:06:56

And this is brethren in terms of placement,

00:06:57--> 00:06:58

not in terms of faith.

00:06:59--> 00:07:00

That they might have shared bloodlines.

00:07:01--> 00:07:03

From that perspective, they're brethren,

00:07:03--> 00:07:05

but they're not brethren from the perspective of

00:07:05--> 00:07:08

faith. Because the Quranic narrative

00:07:08--> 00:07:09

is one

00:07:10--> 00:07:10

that

00:07:12--> 00:07:15

crystallizes the idea the bond of faith is

00:07:15--> 00:07:18

far greater than the bond of blood. So

00:07:18--> 00:07:19

when brother is used in respect to the

00:07:19--> 00:07:22

prophets that Allah sent to a people, that

00:07:22--> 00:07:24

Allah sent their brother to them, this is

00:07:24--> 00:07:27

not brother in faith unless they believed of

00:07:27--> 00:07:27

course.

00:07:28--> 00:07:31

Akaf refers to the dwellings of the people,

00:07:31--> 00:07:33

the people of Ad in Yemen.

00:07:33--> 00:07:34

And Allah

00:07:36--> 00:07:36

destroyed

00:07:37--> 00:07:38

them despite them feeling

00:07:39--> 00:07:40

that they were preserved

00:07:41--> 00:07:42

and protected

00:07:42--> 00:07:45

because of their size, and their height

00:07:46--> 00:07:48

and their power and the homes that they

00:07:48--> 00:07:49

had,

00:07:49--> 00:07:51

homes that were made out of rocks,

00:07:51--> 00:07:53

homes that you normally would feel

00:07:54--> 00:07:55

are impenetrable

00:07:55--> 00:07:58

homes. You can't damage these homes. You can't

00:07:58--> 00:08:00

bury people in these homes.

00:08:02--> 00:08:05

Allah sent to them, because of their transgression,

00:08:05--> 00:08:06

of course, a chilling,

00:08:07--> 00:08:07

raging,

00:08:08--> 00:08:09

roaring

00:08:09--> 00:08:09

wind

00:08:10--> 00:08:11

that penetrated

00:08:12--> 00:08:14

these rocks that they thought could never be

00:08:14--> 00:08:16

broken. And Allah

00:08:17--> 00:08:19

left them in their destroyed

00:08:20--> 00:08:21

and wretched. SubhanAllah.

00:08:22--> 00:08:22

And Allah

00:08:23--> 00:08:25

says to them, murukullashaybi

00:08:25--> 00:08:26

amri rabbihah.

00:08:27--> 00:08:28

That this wind destroyed

00:08:29--> 00:08:29

everything

00:08:30--> 00:08:32

except, meaning with the permission of Allah. But

00:08:32--> 00:08:35

this everything doesn't mean everything in the sense

00:08:35--> 00:08:35

of everything.

00:08:36--> 00:08:38

This is al amal levy oreadabihilhusus,

00:08:39--> 00:08:41

as the scholars of usool al fiq say.

00:08:41--> 00:08:42

That this everything refers

00:08:43--> 00:08:44

to expressiveness,

00:08:45--> 00:08:47

Meaning everything that Allah permitted, but that which

00:08:47--> 00:08:49

Allah didn't permit, this wind didn't touch.

00:08:51--> 00:08:51

And

00:08:52--> 00:08:52

to the extent

00:08:53--> 00:08:54

that they were destroyed,

00:08:55--> 00:08:56

and the people

00:08:56--> 00:08:58

surrounding them, who are like them, were affected

00:08:58--> 00:08:59

as well.

00:09:00--> 00:09:03

So Allah is revealing to Muhammad in Meccan

00:09:03--> 00:09:06

verses, in the Arabic language, that the Quraysh

00:09:06--> 00:09:06

understand

00:09:07--> 00:09:09

at a time when their Arabic was at

00:09:09--> 00:09:10

the height of eloquence,

00:09:12--> 00:09:15

what happened to a people that behaved like

00:09:15--> 00:09:15

them.

00:09:17--> 00:09:20

Now in terms of the relationship between this

00:09:20--> 00:09:21

surah and the surah before, then as we

00:09:21--> 00:09:24

said it's from the hawamin. They both start

00:09:24--> 00:09:24

with khamin.

00:09:25--> 00:09:27

It's also similar in terms of the genre

00:09:27--> 00:09:28

of knowledge taken therein.

00:09:29--> 00:09:30

Also, at the end of the last surah,

00:09:30--> 00:09:32

Allah scolds the the idolaters.

00:09:33--> 00:09:35

There's literal scolding of them for their shirk.

00:09:35--> 00:09:37

And in the opening of this particular surah,

00:09:37--> 00:09:38

Allah begins

00:09:39--> 00:09:40

in the same way. SubhanAllah.

00:09:41--> 00:09:43

And again, if we look at the meanings

00:09:43--> 00:09:46

of these surahs, you can really really appreciate

00:09:46--> 00:09:49

the intensity of the situation of the Muslims

00:09:49--> 00:09:49

and the da'wah

00:09:50--> 00:09:52

of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam

00:09:52--> 00:09:54

at the time when these surahs are coming

00:09:54--> 00:09:57

down. Whereas the surahs are hard, no doubt

00:09:57--> 00:09:58

the intensity

00:09:58--> 00:10:01

in terms of the enmity towards the message

00:10:01--> 00:10:03

and the messenger and the Muslims is hard

00:10:03--> 00:10:03

as well.

00:10:04--> 00:10:06

So these verses come down to strike fear

00:10:06--> 00:10:08

in the hearts that are problem makers

00:10:09--> 00:10:10

and trouble causes.

00:10:10--> 00:10:12

And also, it brings to the hearts of

00:10:12--> 00:10:12

the believers

00:10:13--> 00:10:16

solace and peace and an ability to breathe.

00:10:16--> 00:10:17

Ability

00:10:18--> 00:10:20

to to breathe because of hope that the

00:10:20--> 00:10:20

verses

00:10:21--> 00:10:23

come to them with. That, subhanallah,

00:10:23--> 00:10:25

yes, you might have the tribes.

00:10:25--> 00:10:28

You might have the unity of the tribes,

00:10:28--> 00:10:29

but we have the lord of the worlds.

00:10:30--> 00:10:32

The revelation that's coming down with Jibril is

00:10:32--> 00:10:34

on our side and not on your side,

00:10:34--> 00:10:36

and it keeps you stationed.

00:10:39--> 00:10:41

Now for our ability to navigate the Surah

00:10:41--> 00:10:44

better, it's worth noting the following. Number 1,

00:10:45--> 00:10:48

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala reveals about 2 groups

00:10:48--> 00:10:48

in the Surah.

00:10:49--> 00:10:52

The people of Istikamah, and we discussed the

00:10:52--> 00:10:53

people of Istikamah

00:10:54--> 00:10:54

when we

00:10:55--> 00:10:58

discussed which Surah Fussilat. Remember, 2 nights ago,

00:10:58--> 00:10:59

23rd night, how can we forget?

00:11:00--> 00:11:01

The night that felt like they did the

00:11:01--> 00:11:02

so far.

00:11:03--> 00:11:05

Not gonna push it down. Some people might

00:11:05--> 00:11:07

have felt 21 was, 22 was, alhamdulillahirrubilahirabilahalamin,

00:11:08--> 00:11:09

this scared and everything.

00:11:12--> 00:11:13

In this surah, Allah says,

00:11:16--> 00:11:16

Correct,

00:11:19--> 00:11:21

Similar to the verse we took in Surat,

00:11:23--> 00:11:24

The verse that even though we don't

00:11:25--> 00:11:26

understand

00:11:34--> 00:11:36

and inshallah, it's something that makes you understand

00:11:36--> 00:11:36

why it resonates.

00:11:37--> 00:11:39

This verse begins the same as that one.

00:11:40--> 00:11:40

Inna ladheenaqarru

00:11:41--> 00:11:42

rubunallah. Indeed,

00:11:43--> 00:11:44

the people

00:11:44--> 00:11:45

who say,

00:11:47--> 00:11:48

our Lord is Allah.

00:11:49--> 00:11:52

I'm gonna use the colloquial translation, then they

00:11:52--> 00:11:52

walk the talk.

00:11:53--> 00:11:55

They walk the talk. What does Allah say

00:11:55--> 00:11:55

here? Falakawfuna

00:11:56--> 00:11:57

alayhim walahum yazanoon.

00:11:58--> 00:11:59

Similar to what we discussed in the other

00:11:59--> 00:12:00

verse of istaqamah.

00:12:02--> 00:12:04

No verse for no fear for them,

00:12:05--> 00:12:07

they will never ever be sad. Remember their

00:12:07--> 00:12:09

idea. The happy you feel now,

00:12:09--> 00:12:11

and then you feel happy next, that happy

00:12:11--> 00:12:14

is greater in intensity than the happiness you

00:12:14--> 00:12:17

felt before. Remember that? Allah is confirming that

00:12:17--> 00:12:18

in this verse also.

00:12:19--> 00:12:22

Then Allah says, Ulaik Ausshabul Jannah. This is

00:12:22--> 00:12:24

a summarized form of the last verse we

00:12:24--> 00:12:26

took. Ulaik Ausshabul Jannah.

00:12:27--> 00:12:30

These are the companions and inhabitants of Jannah.

00:12:30--> 00:12:31

Khalidi nafeeha,

00:12:32--> 00:12:34

therein they will reside forever.

00:12:35--> 00:12:37

Why? This is very important.

00:12:37--> 00:12:38

Why?

00:12:39--> 00:12:41

In the last verse we explained why, but

00:12:41--> 00:12:43

it wasn't spelled out for us.

00:12:43--> 00:12:45

In this verse it's spelled out for us.

00:12:45--> 00:12:47

Allah says, Jazar and

00:12:47--> 00:12:48

a worthy,

00:12:48--> 00:12:49

appropriate,

00:12:50--> 00:12:50

merciful

00:12:51--> 00:12:52

reward, and no doubt merciful.

00:12:53--> 00:12:55

And we will see in this, later on

00:12:55--> 00:12:56

when we,

00:12:57--> 00:12:59

take on Surah Al Fatiha why I'm saying

00:12:59--> 00:13:01

this. Insha'Allah, Allah will inspire me to connect

00:13:01--> 00:13:02

that to this.

00:13:03--> 00:13:05

A merciful reward from Allah.

00:13:05--> 00:13:06

Why?

00:13:10--> 00:13:10

Not

00:13:20--> 00:13:22

Remember before I said to you brothers and

00:13:22--> 00:13:24

sisters in Islam, if we want Islam to

00:13:24--> 00:13:26

rise through the ranks,

00:13:26--> 00:13:28

we can't wake up every day having

00:13:28--> 00:13:30

thousands of other things to do,

00:13:31--> 00:13:33

and when we finished with them, now we

00:13:33--> 00:13:35

think about Islam and the izzah of Islam

00:13:35--> 00:13:37

and the honor of Islam and building up

00:13:37--> 00:13:39

Islam and izzah coming back to the ummah

00:13:39--> 00:13:41

and so on and so forth. Remember I

00:13:41--> 00:13:43

said you have to spend a bit of

00:13:43--> 00:13:43

yourself.

00:13:44--> 00:13:45

You have to be ready to spend a

00:13:45--> 00:13:46

bit of yourself.

00:13:48--> 00:13:51

This is what the default mode is.

00:13:51--> 00:13:53

It's a matter of physics, brothers and sisters

00:13:53--> 00:13:54

in Islam.

00:13:55--> 00:13:57

It's not wishful thinking. It's a reality. It's

00:13:57--> 00:13:58

physics.

00:13:58--> 00:14:00

By design of this world, this is how

00:14:00--> 00:14:00

Allah

00:14:01--> 00:14:02

has set the mandate.

00:14:06--> 00:14:08

Allah can say,

00:14:08--> 00:14:08

fayakun.

00:14:09--> 00:14:10

And the imam the other day when he

00:14:10--> 00:14:12

recited this verse, he said kun and he

00:14:12--> 00:14:13

post fayakun

00:14:14--> 00:14:15

be and it will become.

00:14:16--> 00:14:17

Yes. Allah will can say be and it

00:14:17--> 00:14:19

will become. He's the all powerful.

00:14:19--> 00:14:22

But the Allah who created the entire system

00:14:22--> 00:14:24

has said, by my choosing, the system will

00:14:24--> 00:14:26

be that we will not change the situation

00:14:26--> 00:14:28

of a people until they themselves

00:14:29--> 00:14:31

change themselves and their situation.

00:14:32--> 00:14:33

Subhanallah.

00:14:33--> 00:14:35

This is this this is the this is

00:14:35--> 00:14:35

the physics.

00:14:36--> 00:14:38

So you have to be ready to spend

00:14:38--> 00:14:39

a bit of yourself.

00:14:39--> 00:14:41

You have to be ready to stop worshiping

00:14:42--> 00:14:42

your desires.

00:14:43--> 00:14:45

You have to be willing to put Islam

00:14:45--> 00:14:45

first,

00:14:47--> 00:14:49

especially when it goes against your wishes and

00:14:49--> 00:14:51

your fancies and your wounds and your desires.

00:14:52--> 00:14:54

You have to be willing to put Islam

00:14:54--> 00:14:54

first

00:14:55--> 00:14:56

even when it goes against your culture.

00:14:57--> 00:14:59

The other day I told you maybe simply

00:14:59--> 00:15:01

picking up a miswak because my nabi did

00:15:01--> 00:15:03

it might be the reason why baby is

00:15:03--> 00:15:05

pulled out alive from the rubble. This is

00:15:05--> 00:15:06

a fact.

00:15:07--> 00:15:08

This is a fact. You might not connect

00:15:08--> 00:15:11

the dots, but the sharia is telling you

00:15:11--> 00:15:13

that the dots are connected whether you accept

00:15:13--> 00:15:14

it or you don't.

00:15:15--> 00:15:17

Yesterday, we learned how we interdependent

00:15:17--> 00:15:17

communities.

00:15:18--> 00:15:20

Allah doesn't punish a people for the sins

00:15:20--> 00:15:22

of another people, but consequences of the life

00:15:22--> 00:15:24

of this world are connected.

00:15:24--> 00:15:26

If you are on a ship and you're

00:15:26--> 00:15:28

on the upper deck and the people at

00:15:28--> 00:15:30

the bottom deck are drilling a hole, can

00:15:30--> 00:15:32

you stay up there and say well Alhamdulillah

00:15:32--> 00:15:33

we're not at the bottom deck?

00:15:34--> 00:15:35

Those people are crazy, at least we at

00:15:35--> 00:15:36

the top.

00:15:37--> 00:15:38

If you're not gonna do anything you're all

00:15:38--> 00:15:40

going to sink. That is just a matter

00:15:40--> 00:15:42

of consequence, nature of design because of the

00:15:42--> 00:15:45

platform that you're living within. That's life. It's

00:15:45--> 00:15:46

a matter of physics.

00:15:47--> 00:15:49

So Allah can say be and things can

00:15:49--> 00:15:52

change. But Allah has said the system of

00:15:52--> 00:15:54

this world is if you want change, then

00:15:54--> 00:15:56

you need to change. And change is difficult.

00:15:59--> 00:16:02

Allah says a worthy reward, a beneficial reward,

00:16:03--> 00:16:04

a reward greater

00:16:05--> 00:16:07

because of that which they used to do.

00:16:07--> 00:16:09

It's an action, it's a verb.

00:16:09--> 00:16:11

Is a verb, and a verb in the

00:16:11--> 00:16:12

present tense.

00:16:13--> 00:16:15

And anyone of any language knows that a

00:16:15--> 00:16:17

verb denotes action. You need to act. You

00:16:17--> 00:16:19

cannot sit be behind and be passive.

00:16:20--> 00:16:22

You cannot be passive.

00:16:23--> 00:16:25

You have to sweat. Like your job, like

00:16:25--> 00:16:27

your work, like your earnings, you sweat for

00:16:27--> 00:16:28

it. Nobody

00:16:28--> 00:16:30

expects money by being passive.

00:16:31--> 00:16:33

You go out and you search, and you're

00:16:33--> 00:16:34

motivated to go out and search

00:16:35--> 00:16:36

for the deen

00:16:36--> 00:16:38

and Izzah to return to it, you have

00:16:38--> 00:16:40

to go out and build that Izzah.

00:16:42--> 00:16:44

We see this here. So Allah reveals about

00:16:44--> 00:16:45

the family of Istikamah.

00:16:46--> 00:16:47

And

00:16:47--> 00:16:48

consecutively,

00:16:48--> 00:16:51

Allah teaches us about those who left the

00:16:51--> 00:16:53

way of their natural disposition, the fitrah.

00:16:55--> 00:16:56

And we discussed previously

00:16:57--> 00:16:58

about this whole

00:16:59--> 00:17:00

discussion of

00:17:01--> 00:17:04

the nature of a human being between the

00:17:04--> 00:17:04

philosophers

00:17:05--> 00:17:07

and the scientists? Are we a product of

00:17:07--> 00:17:08

nature or nurture?

00:17:09--> 00:17:11

I'm not going to repeat the discussion.

00:17:12--> 00:17:14

But in conclusion, we said from the Shar'i

00:17:14--> 00:17:16

perspective, the Quran's narrative is that we are

00:17:16--> 00:17:20

not a product of nature or nurture, but

00:17:20--> 00:17:21

we are a product of the fitrah, the

00:17:21--> 00:17:22

natural disposition.

00:17:23--> 00:17:23

Fitrah

00:17:26--> 00:17:28

This natural disposition that Allah created us upon,

00:17:29--> 00:17:31

a disposition that believes in Allah, relates to

00:17:31--> 00:17:32

their being a divine being.

00:17:33--> 00:17:36

But a fitrah that can be polluted by

00:17:36--> 00:17:36

neshah,

00:17:37--> 00:17:39

an environment can pollute the fitrah.

00:17:39--> 00:17:41

The parents, the parental home,

00:17:42--> 00:17:44

the friends, the nature of the friends,

00:17:45--> 00:17:48

all of these ideas can pollute the fitrah,

00:17:48--> 00:17:49

creates a virus,

00:17:50--> 00:17:52

and then you need an antivirus. The antivirus

00:17:52--> 00:17:54

is the messenger and the message of the

00:17:54--> 00:17:54

messenger.

00:17:54--> 00:17:57

And that's why every messenger came with a

00:17:57--> 00:17:59

simple message. O'r Abu Dulah,

00:18:01--> 00:18:04

Worship 1 Allah. There is no God worthy

00:18:04--> 00:18:06

of worship besides Him. Such a simple message.

00:18:07--> 00:18:07

No gymnastics,

00:18:08--> 00:18:09

no technicality,

00:18:10--> 00:18:11

no need for a dictionary.

00:18:11--> 00:18:14

It's a message that everybody understands. Why?

00:18:14--> 00:18:17

Because the messenger was not calling anyone to

00:18:17--> 00:18:18

some new idea,

00:18:18--> 00:18:20

but to an idea that was built within

00:18:20--> 00:18:22

the nature of a human being, Reminding them

00:18:22--> 00:18:24

to a knowledge which they already knew about.

00:18:25--> 00:18:27

Each and every human being knows this knowledge.

00:18:27--> 00:18:29

And that's why my brother and sister in

00:18:29--> 00:18:32

Islam, calling people to Allah is easier than

00:18:32--> 00:18:32

you think.

00:18:33--> 00:18:35

Calling people to Allah is easier than you

00:18:35--> 00:18:37

think. Allah has already done the hard work

00:18:37--> 00:18:40

for you by making mankind be created with

00:18:40--> 00:18:42

the program that is programmed, if I can

00:18:42--> 00:18:43

use the language of software.

00:18:44--> 00:18:44

It's coded.

00:18:45--> 00:18:46

It's within

00:18:46--> 00:18:49

the makeup of a human being. This code

00:18:49--> 00:18:49

exists therein.

00:18:50--> 00:18:51

The belief in a higher,

00:18:52--> 00:18:53

in a higher

00:18:53--> 00:18:56

being, in a supreme being, in a divine

00:18:56--> 00:18:57

being,

00:18:57--> 00:18:59

in a being that is extrinsic to his

00:18:59--> 00:19:00

creation,

00:19:00--> 00:19:02

and in control of everything in existence,

00:19:04--> 00:19:05

an independent

00:19:05--> 00:19:08

being that creates dependent beings,

00:19:08--> 00:19:11

the code is there deep within. According to

00:19:11--> 00:19:13

Allah, it's easier than you think. So Surat

00:19:13--> 00:19:16

Al Akhaaf tells us about a people, and

00:19:16--> 00:19:18

no doubt the Quraysh are being addressed. And

00:19:18--> 00:19:20

a reminder to the Quraysh of all those

00:19:20--> 00:19:20

who were destroyed,

00:19:21--> 00:19:23

they left the way of the fitrah and

00:19:23--> 00:19:26

then arrogantly denied the antivirus that came to

00:19:26--> 00:19:27

aid them.

00:19:28--> 00:19:30

The antivirus was there. If they were objective,

00:19:31--> 00:19:32

the antivirus would have been loaded,

00:19:33--> 00:19:35

removed the virus, and they would have been

00:19:35--> 00:19:36

returned back to

00:19:37--> 00:19:38

manufacture settings.

00:19:39--> 00:19:41

How they were the day they were manufactured,

00:19:41--> 00:19:43

how they were the day they were born.

00:19:43--> 00:19:44

But when you're arrogant,

00:19:45--> 00:19:47

it's tantamount to a computer system saying, I

00:19:47--> 00:19:50

reject the antivirus entering me, and I'm happy

00:19:50--> 00:19:51

to live with the virus. If that's the

00:19:51--> 00:19:52

case, then there's consequences.

00:19:53--> 00:19:56

Trying to use modern day vernacular, especially for

00:19:56--> 00:19:59

our young here and those in IT especially.

00:20:00--> 00:20:02

Then he reveals to us, subhanah,

00:20:03--> 00:20:05

guidance on good manners. And we said that

00:20:05--> 00:20:07

this is part and parcel of the genre

00:20:07--> 00:20:09

of knowledge in the Maqken verses. I said

00:20:09--> 00:20:11

to you from the beginning of Ramadan that

00:20:11--> 00:20:12

the Maqken verses,

00:20:13--> 00:20:14

they deal with

00:20:14--> 00:20:15

matters of Aqeedah

00:20:16--> 00:20:16

predominantly.

00:20:17--> 00:20:18

But also within them,

00:20:19--> 00:20:21

we see verses pertaining to good manners and

00:20:21--> 00:20:24

good character and morals and manners and etiquettes.

00:20:25--> 00:20:28

Allah was preparing the Muslims from very early

00:20:28--> 00:20:29

on to have good manners.

00:20:32--> 00:20:33

And the reason Allah

00:20:34--> 00:20:35

knows best, if we look at the Quran

00:20:35--> 00:20:36

as a collective,

00:20:37--> 00:20:38

and I've shared this with you from the

00:20:38--> 00:20:40

Jum'ah member, when I've spoken to you in

00:20:40--> 00:20:42

this masjid before,

00:20:42--> 00:20:43

is that this is the Ummah of the

00:20:43--> 00:20:44

Awa,

00:20:44--> 00:20:46

and the speed of light

00:20:46--> 00:20:48

is faster than the speed of sound.

00:20:48--> 00:20:50

People will hear you.

00:20:52--> 00:20:54

The speed of light is faster than the

00:20:54--> 00:20:56

speed of sound. People will hear you after

00:20:56--> 00:20:58

they see you, and people will see you

00:20:58--> 00:21:00

before they hear you. If they don't like

00:21:00--> 00:21:02

what they see, they will not trust what

00:21:02--> 00:21:03

they hear.

00:21:04--> 00:21:06

And it's manners, morals, and etiquettes

00:21:07--> 00:21:09

that gives you an appearance

00:21:10--> 00:21:12

that allows people to extend trust

00:21:12--> 00:21:14

to the message that you will eventually share.

00:21:14--> 00:21:15

The prophet

00:21:16--> 00:21:19

before he gave the Awa, he was known

00:21:19--> 00:21:20

as Al Amin,

00:21:20--> 00:21:23

As Sadiq, the Truthful One, the Trustworthy One.

00:21:24--> 00:21:26

He was known as these things.

00:21:27--> 00:21:29

And recurringly, I will say, when he stood

00:21:29--> 00:21:32

on Mount Safa and told them, before he

00:21:32--> 00:21:33

called them to Tuhhid, if I were to

00:21:33--> 00:21:36

inform you of an army prepped and ready,

00:21:37--> 00:21:39

ready to roll to overcome Makkah,

00:21:40--> 00:21:42

would you need further diligence or would you

00:21:42--> 00:21:44

accept my message? I said we know nothing

00:21:44--> 00:21:45

from you except the truth, you are a

00:21:45--> 00:21:46

trustworthy person.

00:21:47--> 00:21:49

Morals and manners brothers and sisters in Islam.

00:21:50--> 00:21:51

If you have

00:21:51--> 00:21:54

the purest water in the dirtiest bottle, people

00:21:54--> 00:21:56

won't trust that their water is pure.

00:21:57--> 00:21:58

They won't trust it.

00:21:59--> 00:22:01

It will need a lot of selling.

00:22:03--> 00:22:06

Right? If you come with the most branded

00:22:06--> 00:22:07

best

00:22:08--> 00:22:09

plate of Biryani,

00:22:10--> 00:22:11

in Ramadan,

00:22:11--> 00:22:12

after people have fasted,

00:22:13--> 00:22:15

some have fasted 19 hours, maybe,

00:22:16--> 00:22:18

with the most expensive saffron.

00:22:20--> 00:22:22

But you serve it on the dust outside.

00:22:22--> 00:22:24

You take it and you throw it on

00:22:24--> 00:22:25

the middle of the road. Who's gonna eat

00:22:25--> 00:22:25

it?

00:22:28--> 00:22:30

So you have to look the part,

00:22:30--> 00:22:31

and your manners

00:22:32--> 00:22:34

plays a big part there.

00:22:34--> 00:22:35

Allah

00:22:36--> 00:22:36

reveals

00:22:37--> 00:22:38

verses

00:22:39--> 00:22:39

about

00:22:43--> 00:22:43

manners,

00:22:44--> 00:22:46

morals, and etiquettes, and we'll listen to the

00:22:46--> 00:22:47

recitation by

00:22:51--> 00:22:52

or Usayn al Insan.

00:22:54--> 00:22:55

You want this mic or you want the

00:22:55--> 00:22:57

other one? The other one you were playing

00:22:57--> 00:22:59

with the other day. People thought there was

00:22:59--> 00:23:01

jinn in the masjid here, subhan'Allah.

00:23:14--> 00:23:17

And we have made compulsory upon man

00:23:19--> 00:23:21

to manifest good treatment towards his parents.

00:23:28--> 00:23:30

His mother carried him with hardship.

00:23:32--> 00:23:33

And gave birth to him with hardship.

00:23:39--> 00:23:42

His just his gestation and weaning period is

00:23:42--> 00:23:43

that of 30 months.

00:23:51--> 00:23:52

He grows

00:23:52--> 00:23:54

until he reaches the age of puberty and

00:23:54--> 00:23:55

maturity.

00:23:56--> 00:23:58

And then he carries on growing until he

00:23:58--> 00:24:00

reaches the age of 40 years. He's established

00:24:00--> 00:24:01

now.

00:24:25--> 00:24:26

So this is a verse about good manners

00:24:26--> 00:24:28

coming down during the Makkan period.

00:24:29--> 00:24:31

What happens when he reaches 40?

00:24:31--> 00:24:33

This is a good child.

00:24:34--> 00:24:37

Allah says that he says, my lord enable

00:24:37--> 00:24:39

me to be grateful for your favor which

00:24:39--> 00:24:41

you have bestowed upon me and upon my

00:24:41--> 00:24:44

parents. The favor of iman, no doubt.

00:24:44--> 00:24:46

And also the favor of my parents for

00:24:46--> 00:24:48

raising me upon iman, no doubt.

00:24:49--> 00:24:51

And to work righteousness of which you will

00:24:51--> 00:24:53

approve and make righteous for me my offspring.

00:24:54--> 00:24:57

He's asking Allah for help for his offspring

00:24:57--> 00:24:59

as Allah helped his parents with him.

00:25:00--> 00:25:02

And then he says, indeed, I have repented

00:25:02--> 00:25:04

to you, You Allah, And indeed, I am

00:25:04--> 00:25:06

from the Muslims. Subhanallah.

00:25:06--> 00:25:08

This is the manifestation

00:25:09--> 00:25:10

of a righteous child

00:25:11--> 00:25:13

as a result of a righteous upbringing.

00:25:14--> 00:25:15

And this is a child that will be

00:25:15--> 00:25:17

a means for their parents in the hereafter,

00:25:17--> 00:25:19

and we will listen towards the end of

00:25:19--> 00:25:20

Ramadan. Walathinaamanuwataba'athumduriyahum

00:25:23--> 00:25:23

beiman.

00:25:24--> 00:25:25

Alhakna bihimduriyahum.

00:25:26--> 00:25:27

And tomorrow is tarawihullah?

00:25:27--> 00:25:28

Tomorrow?

00:25:29--> 00:25:30

Or is it the day after?

00:25:30--> 00:25:31

Waladhinamanwatabaathumduriya

00:25:33--> 00:25:33

tuhum beiman

00:25:36--> 00:25:37

alhaknaabihumduriya

00:25:38--> 00:25:39

tuhum

00:25:43--> 00:25:45

Allah says, As for those

00:25:45--> 00:25:46

who believed in Allah,

00:25:47--> 00:25:50

and then they raised children upon iman, and

00:25:50--> 00:25:52

those children lived upon iman, and died upon

00:25:52--> 00:25:55

iman. The parents died upon iman. The children

00:25:55--> 00:25:56

died upon iman.

00:25:58--> 00:26:00

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:26:01--> 00:26:01

will

00:26:02--> 00:26:04

gather the children with the parents in Jannah

00:26:04--> 00:26:05

as they were a family

00:26:06--> 00:26:06

on earth,

00:26:07--> 00:26:09

there will be a family in Jannah. And

00:26:09--> 00:26:11

how? If the children are at a higher

00:26:11--> 00:26:13

level in Jannah and the parents are at

00:26:13--> 00:26:15

a lower level in Jannah,

00:26:15--> 00:26:17

Allah will raise the parents to the level

00:26:17--> 00:26:18

of the children so they can be a

00:26:18--> 00:26:20

family in the higher level of Jannah together

00:26:21--> 00:26:23

without Allah reducing the rank of the children

00:26:23--> 00:26:25

in any way. This is a mercy from

00:26:25--> 00:26:28

Allah upon a family that strived to live

00:26:28--> 00:26:30

upon the mandates of Allah. In this life,

00:26:30--> 00:26:31

He will put them in Jannah as a

00:26:31--> 00:26:33

family in the hereafter.

00:26:34--> 00:26:34

Subhanallah.

00:26:36--> 00:26:36

May Allah

00:26:37--> 00:26:39

gather us with our parents,

00:26:39--> 00:26:40

and our grandparents

00:26:41--> 00:26:42

and our offspring, alfredusal

00:26:43--> 00:26:44

a'ala. Ameen.

00:26:46--> 00:26:48

Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, says, Ulaikal ladina.

00:27:13--> 00:27:15

And overlook their mistakes,

00:27:15--> 00:27:16

overlook their sins.

00:27:17--> 00:27:19

And they will be amongst the companions of

00:27:19--> 00:27:20

paradise.

00:27:20--> 00:27:22

And that is the promise of truth,

00:27:23--> 00:27:24

which they have been promised by who? By

00:27:24--> 00:27:26

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:27:27--> 00:27:28

Subhan Allah.

00:27:29--> 00:27:31

So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala wants us to

00:27:31--> 00:27:32

be with him.

00:27:32--> 00:27:34

To be with him upon certainty.

00:27:35--> 00:27:37

That we sit here

00:27:37--> 00:27:38

with certainty.

00:27:39--> 00:27:41

That insha'Allah, we will be with our children

00:27:41--> 00:27:42

in alfirdos insha'Allah.

00:27:43--> 00:27:45

There's a promise from Allah that we will

00:27:45--> 00:27:47

strive to raise them upon the mandate that

00:27:47--> 00:27:50

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has set. We'll make

00:27:50--> 00:27:52

du'a for them. We will teach them the

00:27:52--> 00:27:54

Quran. We will teach them the sunnah. We

00:27:54--> 00:27:56

will show them right as right, and wrong

00:27:56--> 00:27:58

as wrong. And we will empower them to

00:27:58--> 00:27:59

be upon the right irrespective

00:28:00--> 00:28:02

of society for the sake of Allah subhanahu

00:28:02--> 00:28:03

wa ta'ala.

00:28:03--> 00:28:07

And we will entice them with the knowledge

00:28:07--> 00:28:09

that when we die, my dear son and

00:28:09--> 00:28:11

my dear daughter, if you live upon this

00:28:11--> 00:28:14

mandate, then my death and my departure is

00:28:14--> 00:28:16

not a full stop. It's just a comma.

00:28:17--> 00:28:18

It's just a comma.

00:28:19--> 00:28:20

We will be brought together again

00:28:21--> 00:28:22

in a better place.

00:28:23--> 00:28:25

I am gone now, it's for you to

00:28:25--> 00:28:26

remain stationed thereafter.

00:28:27--> 00:28:29

We trade with Allah in this way with

00:28:29--> 00:28:31

certainty my brothers and sisters in Islam.

00:28:32--> 00:28:33

Yes, life is

00:28:33--> 00:28:35

tough. Bringing children in this world, it's never

00:28:35--> 00:28:38

been, subhanallah, hada Allah knows best.

00:28:38--> 00:28:40

But we remember that these verses are coming

00:28:40--> 00:28:43

down at a time when 3 160 idols

00:28:43--> 00:28:44

were around the Kaaba.

00:28:44--> 00:28:46

We don't live at a time where idols

00:28:46--> 00:28:47

are around us.

00:28:47--> 00:28:49

The Quraysh could argue that we, the Muslims

00:28:49--> 00:28:52

from from the Sahaba, could say we were

00:28:52--> 00:28:55

raising our children. That's, subhanallah, a harder time

00:28:55--> 00:28:56

than you know. And these were the verses

00:28:56--> 00:28:59

Allah was revealing to us. We raised our

00:28:59--> 00:29:03

children despite events, with hope. Despite the persecution

00:29:03--> 00:29:04

with hope. Despite

00:29:05--> 00:29:08

the fear with hope. Despite the enmity with

00:29:08--> 00:29:10

hope. Despite the animosity

00:29:10--> 00:29:13

with hope. Because we traded Allah with yaqeen.

00:29:13--> 00:29:15

We believed in the Quran, and Allah revealed

00:29:15--> 00:29:17

his promise to us, and we trusted the

00:29:17--> 00:29:18

promise of Allah.

00:29:19--> 00:29:21

Payib. Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala takes us

00:29:21--> 00:29:22

to the contrary,

00:29:23--> 00:29:24

the evil child.

00:29:25--> 00:29:26

The child with poor manners.

00:29:46--> 00:29:49

But one who says to his parents, off

00:29:49--> 00:29:52

to you, off in the Arabic language

00:29:52--> 00:29:53

is not even a word.

00:29:54--> 00:29:55

It's a manifestation

00:29:56--> 00:29:56

of descent.

00:29:57--> 00:29:58

SubhanAllah.

00:29:58--> 00:30:00

When you're like, you know, you show your

00:30:00--> 00:30:01

parents this descent,

00:30:02--> 00:30:04

but you don't say a word. It's clear

00:30:04--> 00:30:06

from your demeanor.

00:30:06--> 00:30:07

It's clear from

00:30:08--> 00:30:08

your physical

00:30:09--> 00:30:09

manifestation.

00:30:11--> 00:30:14

They say, do you promise me that I

00:30:14--> 00:30:16

will be brought forth from the earth when

00:30:16--> 00:30:19

generations before me have already passed into oblivion?

00:30:19--> 00:30:21

No one has seen them, no one has

00:30:21--> 00:30:23

heard about them, they were buried and they

00:30:23--> 00:30:23

gone.

00:30:24--> 00:30:26

This is in reference to parents who accepted

00:30:26--> 00:30:27

Islam

00:30:27--> 00:30:29

and the children who fought their parents

00:30:30--> 00:30:32

for accepting Islam. They chose to remain upon

00:30:32--> 00:30:32

disbelief.

00:30:33--> 00:30:36

Allah says they do this to their parents,

00:30:37--> 00:30:39

whilst the parents call to Allah for help,

00:30:39--> 00:30:41

because your son is your son at the

00:30:41--> 00:30:43

end of the day. Your child is your

00:30:43--> 00:30:45

child at the end of the day. Even

00:30:45--> 00:30:46

Nuh alayhi salaam,

00:30:46--> 00:30:49

after he begged his son in the final

00:30:49--> 00:30:50

moments, after 950

00:30:50--> 00:30:51

years of da'wah,

00:30:52--> 00:30:53

Irqab Ma'ana,

00:30:53--> 00:30:54

please

00:30:54--> 00:30:57

get onto the ship, my son. He said,

00:31:00--> 00:31:02

I'll go to the highest part of this

00:31:02--> 00:31:04

mountain. It's gonna protect me from the waterfall.

00:31:05--> 00:31:07

It's gonna protect me from these floods. My

00:31:07--> 00:31:10

dear son, Qala, look at my father, elderly

00:31:10--> 00:31:12

father, talking to his son with such beautiful

00:31:12--> 00:31:16

terms. Yeah, Buney, my beautiful, dear, beloved son.

00:31:16--> 00:31:18

He's not even scolding him. Even though this

00:31:18--> 00:31:20

is a time of hazm and azzam, there's

00:31:20--> 00:31:21

no time left.

00:31:23--> 00:31:25

He says, my dear son,

00:31:26--> 00:31:27

lahiillamarrahim.

00:31:28--> 00:31:29

There's no protection

00:31:30--> 00:31:32

from the command of Allah today except the

00:31:32--> 00:31:36

one who Allah's mercy falls upon descends upon.

00:31:36--> 00:31:38

The people of that mercy are on this

00:31:38--> 00:31:39

ship with me.

00:31:40--> 00:31:41

Wahala baynahumalmoj.

00:31:41--> 00:31:44

A big wave came and blocked

00:31:44--> 00:31:46

Nuh from his son, and his son was

00:31:46--> 00:31:49

from those drowned. Nuh alayhi salaam even after

00:31:49--> 00:31:49

this,

00:31:50--> 00:31:51

he engages Allah.

00:31:52--> 00:31:53

Innaahu min aali.

00:31:54--> 00:31:55

My dear father, you Allah, he was from

00:31:55--> 00:31:56

my family.

00:31:58--> 00:31:59

So these parents,

00:31:59--> 00:32:02

despite the enmity of their son towards them,

00:32:02--> 00:32:05

whilst this whilst he's rebuking his parents for

00:32:05--> 00:32:05

their belief

00:32:06--> 00:32:07

and challenging

00:32:07--> 00:32:11

their belief with misconceived rationale. But look, people

00:32:11--> 00:32:12

died. Where are they? There's no life after

00:32:12--> 00:32:13

death.

00:32:13--> 00:32:15

The parents, Allah says, are saying, they call

00:32:15--> 00:32:17

out to Allah for help whilst he's doing

00:32:17--> 00:32:19

this. And they say, woe to you, our

00:32:19--> 00:32:20

son. Just believe.

00:32:22--> 00:32:23

Min, just believe.

00:32:24--> 00:32:24

Just believe.

00:32:25--> 00:32:27

This is not belief without evidence. It's belief

00:32:27--> 00:32:28

with evidence,

00:32:29--> 00:32:30

but you are consumed,

00:32:31--> 00:32:33

intoxicated by misconceptions.

00:32:34--> 00:32:36

Believe and then we'll deal with your misconceptions,

00:32:37--> 00:32:37

just believe.

00:32:39--> 00:32:39

Now,

00:32:39--> 00:32:41

what do they say? What happens? Allah says

00:32:41--> 00:32:42

indeed.

00:32:52--> 00:32:54

So these verses are coming down, and Allah

00:32:54--> 00:32:57

is describing therein, actually events that are happening

00:32:57--> 00:32:58

with the sahabah.

00:32:59--> 00:33:00

Actual events, subhanallah.

00:33:01--> 00:33:03

Things that are maybe happening within

00:33:04--> 00:33:05

homes, behind closed doors.

00:33:06--> 00:33:08

Verses are coming down describing events.

00:33:08--> 00:33:10

You think the sahaba don't believe this is

00:33:10--> 00:33:12

from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala?

00:33:13--> 00:33:14

SubhanAllah.

00:33:14--> 00:33:17

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says that they say

00:33:17--> 00:33:19

to their son, believe indeed the promise of

00:33:19--> 00:33:21

Allah is true. But the son reply responds

00:33:21--> 00:33:24

and says, this is not but legends of

00:33:24--> 00:33:26

former people. You are coming with stories of

00:33:26--> 00:33:26

the past.

00:33:27--> 00:33:29

So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala teaches us good

00:33:29--> 00:33:31

manners in the Surah, to be excellent to

00:33:31--> 00:33:32

our parents.

00:33:32--> 00:33:34

And in the verse you heard

00:33:36--> 00:33:38

for those in the medical field, this may

00:33:38--> 00:33:39

interest you, because Allah says

00:33:40--> 00:33:42

the carrying of the child and the weaning

00:33:42--> 00:33:44

period of the child is 30 months.

00:33:45--> 00:33:47

And in another verse of the Quran, Allah

00:33:47--> 00:33:47

says,

00:33:55--> 00:33:57

Allah says that the mothers

00:33:57--> 00:34:00

will feed their children, the breastfeeding,

00:34:00--> 00:34:03

they will feed their children for 2 years,

00:34:04--> 00:34:07

for 2 years. So that's 24 months. Allah

00:34:07--> 00:34:10

says in this verse, 30 months. The

00:34:10--> 00:34:11

gestation

00:34:12--> 00:34:12

and

00:34:13--> 00:34:15

the weaning is a period of 30 months.

00:34:16--> 00:34:18

If we look at the other verse, 24

00:34:18--> 00:34:20

months. 24 from 30 equals 6.

00:34:21--> 00:34:24

The sahaba deduced from this verse that the

00:34:24--> 00:34:25

minimum

00:34:25--> 00:34:27

period of pregnancy is 6 months.

00:34:29--> 00:34:30

And this is fiqh of the sahaba.

00:34:31--> 00:34:33

At a time when there was no medicine

00:34:33--> 00:34:35

and you needed this, there were no ultrasounds.

00:34:35--> 00:34:37

You needed this because there were cases. Let's

00:34:37--> 00:34:38

say somebody

00:34:39--> 00:34:39

is pregnant

00:34:41--> 00:34:42

and

00:34:43--> 00:34:45

or someone gives birth and they were only

00:34:45--> 00:34:46

married for 6 months.

00:34:46--> 00:34:48

Does this mean they committed adultery?

00:34:48--> 00:34:50

Were they pregnant before

00:34:51--> 00:34:52

the marriage or not? This needs

00:34:53--> 00:34:55

fiqh. This needs fiqh. If the norm is

00:34:55--> 00:34:57

children are born at 9 months 2 weeks

00:34:57--> 00:34:58

or around this period,

00:34:59--> 00:35:00

and now you have a situation where a

00:35:00--> 00:35:03

child is born after 6 months of marriage,

00:35:03--> 00:35:05

and and a father comes and he disputes

00:35:05--> 00:35:07

this. 6 months.

00:35:07--> 00:35:09

Is this my child or somebody else's child?

00:35:09--> 00:35:10

There's no ultrasound.

00:35:10--> 00:35:12

There's no DNA testing.

00:35:12--> 00:35:14

They went to the Quran, and they extracted

00:35:14--> 00:35:16

this minimum period of pregnancy, 6 months.

00:35:17--> 00:35:19

And accordingly, they would set the the laws

00:35:19--> 00:35:21

and the rules. They would judge and rule

00:35:21--> 00:35:23

in these disputes. This is just a FYI

00:35:23--> 00:35:25

for you to see, subhanallah, the fiqh of

00:35:25--> 00:35:26

the sahaba. Then Allah

00:35:27--> 00:35:29

tells us a story of Hud, and how

00:35:29--> 00:35:33

Allah's wind spanning 7 nights 8 days came

00:35:33--> 00:35:35

and destroyed everything. And I mentioned this to

00:35:35--> 00:35:37

you all, and it was a result of

00:35:37--> 00:35:39

people's arrogance. And subhanAllah, what will make us

00:35:39--> 00:35:40

understand?

00:35:40--> 00:35:43

The story of arrogance. The reality of arrogance.

00:35:43--> 00:35:45

It's been a recurring theme throughout the Quran,

00:35:45--> 00:35:47

throughout of our nights together. How arrogance is

00:35:47--> 00:35:48

really ultimately

00:35:49--> 00:35:51

the cancer that erodes belief.

00:35:52--> 00:35:53

And

00:35:54--> 00:35:56

it's not for the son of Adam to

00:35:56--> 00:35:58

be arrogant. When Allah created

00:35:59--> 00:36:01

the son of Adam from humble elements,

00:36:01--> 00:36:01

sand

00:36:02--> 00:36:03

mixed with water

00:36:04--> 00:36:05

hardened into clay,

00:36:06--> 00:36:06

when

00:36:07--> 00:36:08

you knock it it makes a hollow sound

00:36:09--> 00:36:10

as a result

00:36:10--> 00:36:12

of hardened sand

00:36:12--> 00:36:14

after it was mixed with water.

00:36:14--> 00:36:16

2 humble elements

00:36:16--> 00:36:17

and Allah

00:36:18--> 00:36:20

is the only one

00:36:20--> 00:36:21

who has

00:36:21--> 00:36:22

the right,

00:36:22--> 00:36:25

everyone else has to be humble in front

00:36:25--> 00:36:25

of him subhanahu

00:36:26--> 00:36:27

and Iblis was arrogant

00:36:28--> 00:36:30

and where did that get him? Destined to

00:36:30--> 00:36:32

the alfa'i and destined to being

00:36:32--> 00:36:35

associated with the curse of Allah forever. It's

00:36:35--> 00:36:36

not for mankind

00:36:36--> 00:36:37

to be arrogant.

00:36:38--> 00:36:40

As one of the sheikhs beautifully put it,

00:36:40--> 00:36:41

it was on a light note, he was

00:36:41--> 00:36:42

speaking to the youth and they were laughing

00:36:42--> 00:36:43

about it, it was beautifully put.

00:36:44--> 00:36:47

He said why are onions and apples and

00:36:47--> 00:36:50

tomatoes and lentils and rice becoming arrogant?

00:36:50--> 00:36:51

They were laughing

00:36:51--> 00:36:53

how does rice become arrogant?

00:36:53--> 00:36:56

How does lentils become arrogant? How does tomatoes

00:36:56--> 00:36:58

become arrogant? He goes, what are you made

00:36:58--> 00:37:00

up of? What's what's the makeup of your

00:37:00--> 00:37:02

bodies? You are born how many kilos were

00:37:02--> 00:37:03

you? And now how many kilos do you

00:37:03--> 00:37:05

weigh? You are born, what, 4 kilos, 3

00:37:05--> 00:37:07

kilos, 2 kilos. Now you're 70, 80 kilos.

00:37:07--> 00:37:08

Where did all this weight come from? It

00:37:08--> 00:37:10

came from lentils, from tomatoes,

00:37:11--> 00:37:12

from aubergines,

00:37:12--> 00:37:15

from rice, from pasta. Why why why are

00:37:15--> 00:37:17

these things that came from the Earth, from

00:37:17--> 00:37:18

the ground being arrogant?

00:37:18--> 00:37:20

There's no right to be arrogant,

00:37:21--> 00:37:23

and subhanallah just think about it, may Allah

00:37:23--> 00:37:24

save us. A kidney stone,

00:37:25--> 00:37:29

3 millimeter kidney stone, 4 millimeter kidney stone

00:37:29--> 00:37:30

can bring man

00:37:31--> 00:37:32

to the ground.

00:37:33--> 00:37:35

May Allah save us from this. If this

00:37:35--> 00:37:38

is the reality with a 4, 5 millimeter

00:37:38--> 00:37:40

kidney stone, then, oh, mankind.

00:37:41--> 00:37:42

Why are you being arrogant?

00:37:43--> 00:37:45

Why do we be arrogant?

00:37:45--> 00:37:45

SubhanAllah.

00:37:46--> 00:37:48

That we think we're big and mighty and

00:37:48--> 00:37:50

powerful, and a stone, subhanAllah, that you need

00:37:51--> 00:37:53

a magnifying glass to see the details of,

00:37:53--> 00:37:55

so tiny, can bring you to the ground,

00:37:55--> 00:37:57

give you pain that's 9 on the pain

00:37:57--> 00:37:57

meter,

00:37:58--> 00:38:00

a pain that is similar to the labor

00:38:00--> 00:38:02

pain of a female which is giving birth.

00:38:03--> 00:38:03

Subhanallah.

00:38:04--> 00:38:06

This is what can be done to you.

00:38:06--> 00:38:08

If Allah says be,

00:38:08--> 00:38:10

then again why be arrogant?

00:38:10--> 00:38:13

Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala takes us to

00:38:13--> 00:38:15

the jinn, because they had a very praiseworthy

00:38:16--> 00:38:18

moment with the Quran. Allah

00:38:22--> 00:38:22

says,

00:38:28--> 00:38:29

number 29.

00:38:32--> 00:38:32

29.

00:38:34--> 00:38:36

No? No. The next one is we like

00:38:36--> 00:38:38

to live in Haqqani. No. Go to 29.

00:38:38--> 00:38:39

What's on 29?

00:38:44--> 00:38:46

No. No. No. No.

00:38:46--> 00:38:48

You're not here. It has to be there.

00:38:48--> 00:38:50

Quran is preserved till the day of If

00:38:51--> 00:38:53

it's not in you the in the Quran,

00:38:53--> 00:38:54

it's in your heart. I know.

00:39:02--> 00:39:04

And mention, O Muhammad,

00:39:04--> 00:39:06

when we directed to you a few from

00:39:06--> 00:39:07

the jinn,

00:39:08--> 00:39:09

listening to you reciting the Quran.

00:39:15--> 00:39:17

And when they attended it, they said,

00:39:19--> 00:39:20

Shhh, listen attentively.

00:39:22--> 00:39:23

SubhanAllah.

00:39:23--> 00:39:25

Allah is praising them in verses that will

00:39:25--> 00:39:27

be recited till the day of Qiyamah.

00:39:27--> 00:39:29

That they came, and they heard the prophet

00:39:29--> 00:39:31

sallallahu alaihi wasallam reciting Quran.

00:39:32--> 00:39:33

And there were a group of 9 according

00:39:33--> 00:39:35

to some of the scholars of Tafsir.

00:39:35--> 00:39:37

And when they heard this is Quran, they

00:39:37--> 00:39:38

humbled themselves in front of the word of

00:39:38--> 00:39:40

Allah. That this is the word of Allah,

00:39:40--> 00:39:41

be quiet and pay attention.

00:39:41--> 00:39:43

This is adab with the word of Allah

00:39:43--> 00:39:44

subhanahu wa ta'ala.

00:39:50--> 00:39:53

Now, They stayed until the Messenger finished reciting.

00:39:54--> 00:39:57

As soon as the messenger stopped reciting, they

00:39:57--> 00:39:58

didn't waste time, they rushed back to their

00:39:58--> 00:39:59

people.

00:40:00--> 00:40:02

Immediate action. Naam, what did they do?

00:40:11--> 00:40:13

They said, oh, our people,

00:40:13--> 00:40:15

indeed we have heard a recitation of a

00:40:15--> 00:40:18

book that was revealed after Musa.

00:40:29--> 00:40:32

A book revealed after Musa confirming what was

00:40:32--> 00:40:34

before it and it guides to the truth

00:40:34--> 00:40:36

and to the straight path.

00:40:43--> 00:40:44

Oh, our people.

00:40:44--> 00:40:48

Oh, our people. Meaning, oh jinn, follow jinn,

00:40:48--> 00:40:50

respond to the messenger of Allah

00:40:50--> 00:40:52

and believe in him.

00:41:03--> 00:41:06

Allah will forgive you for you forgive you

00:41:06--> 00:41:07

your sins and protect you from a painful

00:41:07--> 00:41:08

punishment.

00:41:21--> 00:41:23

But he who does not respond to the

00:41:23--> 00:41:24

call of Allah

00:41:25--> 00:41:28

will not cause failure to Allah on earth.

00:41:29--> 00:41:31

And he will not have besides Allah any

00:41:31--> 00:41:32

protectors.

00:41:39--> 00:41:40

Those are in manifest

00:41:41--> 00:41:41

era.

00:41:42--> 00:41:45

Brothers and sisters in Islam, these jinn, SubhanAllah,

00:41:46--> 00:41:48

firstly, look at the Adeb with Allah Subhanahu

00:41:48--> 00:41:49

Wa Ta'ala and his words.

00:41:50--> 00:41:52

And we see this in a people who

00:41:52--> 00:41:54

really appreciate

00:41:55--> 00:41:55

the Quran

00:41:56--> 00:41:58

as the word of Allah. They respect the

00:41:58--> 00:41:59

Quran.

00:41:59--> 00:42:02

And even in our scholars, subhanallah, there's a

00:42:02--> 00:42:03

clip that's,

00:42:03--> 00:42:05

went viral a few years ago in the

00:42:05--> 00:42:05

Haram,

00:42:06--> 00:42:07

about one of the Imams,

00:42:08--> 00:42:10

or one of the senior scholars,

00:42:10--> 00:42:12

it could have even been Sheikh Ibn Uthaimin,

00:42:12--> 00:42:12

Rahimahullah,

00:42:14--> 00:42:16

one of the senior scholars of Saudi Arabia.

00:42:16--> 00:42:18

A long time ago, when Imam Ali Jabir

00:42:19--> 00:42:19

was

00:42:20--> 00:42:21

the imam of the Haram,

00:42:22--> 00:42:25

and he could hardly stand. This scholar used

00:42:25--> 00:42:26

to pray salah

00:42:27--> 00:42:27

sitting,

00:42:28--> 00:42:28

sitting,

00:42:29--> 00:42:31

And then a verse of sujud was about

00:42:31--> 00:42:32

to come.

00:42:33--> 00:42:34

So he picks up his stick,

00:42:35--> 00:42:37

and the cameras are on the imam at

00:42:37--> 00:42:39

that moment, and he's behind the imam.

00:42:39--> 00:42:41

He picks up his stick,

00:42:41--> 00:42:44

and he forces himself up even though he's

00:42:44--> 00:42:46

so old, and he's weak in the knees,

00:42:46--> 00:42:47

and the thighs, and his hips,

00:42:48--> 00:42:50

so that he can go into sujood

00:42:51--> 00:42:52

with the ayah of sujood

00:42:53--> 00:42:54

out of respect for Allah

00:42:56--> 00:42:58

That Allah says they fall down into sujud,

00:42:58--> 00:43:00

I won't be sitting and going to sujud,

00:43:00--> 00:43:01

I will stand and go into sujud.

00:43:02--> 00:43:03

Even though he's excused.

00:43:04--> 00:43:06

But this is these are a people who,

00:43:06--> 00:43:08

subhanallah, they know the worth of the words

00:43:08--> 00:43:09

of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

00:43:10--> 00:43:13

So these jinn, they understood this worth. So

00:43:13--> 00:43:15

they shut everybody up and told them pay

00:43:15--> 00:43:17

attention. It's not enough for you to be

00:43:17--> 00:43:19

quiet and play on your phone, but they

00:43:19--> 00:43:20

didn't have phones, but you know what I'm

00:43:20--> 00:43:23

saying. The Quran is being recited.

00:43:24--> 00:43:26

You're quiet, but you're distracted. No. No. No.

00:43:26--> 00:43:29

No. No. No. Be quiet and concentrate.

00:43:30--> 00:43:31

Be quiet and focus

00:43:32--> 00:43:34

because the success that you require in this

00:43:34--> 00:43:36

life and the next is being recited to

00:43:36--> 00:43:38

you. When they finished, Allah is praising them.

00:43:38--> 00:43:40

They didn't sit back and say, let's go

00:43:40--> 00:43:41

for a meal.

00:43:41--> 00:43:43

Masha'Allah, let's go have a nice,

00:43:44--> 00:43:44

you know, burger

00:43:45--> 00:43:47

and discuss these wonderful things that we heard.

00:43:47--> 00:43:50

Right? They went immediately to the other jinn

00:43:50--> 00:43:51

who didn't hear the message, and they gave

00:43:51--> 00:43:52

them dawah.

00:43:53--> 00:43:54

They gave them dawah.

00:43:56--> 00:43:58

Dawah is easier than you think.

00:43:58--> 00:44:00

How many people do we call to Allah?

00:44:00--> 00:44:02

And call to the message of the Quran?

00:44:02--> 00:44:03

Or share with them the guidance of the

00:44:03--> 00:44:04

Quran?

00:44:04--> 00:44:06

Even if it was in the form of

00:44:06--> 00:44:07

them going back to them and reciting to

00:44:07--> 00:44:10

them what they heard the messenger said. Wallahi,

00:44:10--> 00:44:11

brothers and sisters in Islam, I tried this

00:44:11--> 00:44:13

with half I zakir. As he's reading, doesn't

00:44:13--> 00:44:15

it have an impact on you?

00:44:15--> 00:44:17

He reads, you hear the meaning. It has

00:44:17--> 00:44:18

an impact. There's nothing

00:44:19--> 00:44:20

more eloquent,

00:44:20--> 00:44:21

more baligh,

00:44:21--> 00:44:24

more reaching than the words of Allah himself.

00:44:24--> 00:44:26

I can try in the English language,

00:44:26--> 00:44:28

but when it's read to you, these are

00:44:28--> 00:44:29

kalam. This is the kalam of Allah subhanahu

00:44:29--> 00:44:30

wa ta'ala.

00:44:31--> 00:44:32

So we learn in Surah Al Akaf, the

00:44:32--> 00:44:34

attitude of the believers with

00:44:34--> 00:44:35

with the Quran.

00:44:37--> 00:44:37

Now, Umuman,

00:44:38--> 00:44:40

subhanallah, time is passing. Surah Muhammad.

00:44:41--> 00:44:44

Surah Muhammad, so we had Maqki, Maqki, Maqan,

00:44:44--> 00:44:45

Maqan, Maqan, Maqan verses.

00:44:46--> 00:44:48

For much of the last few nights, we

00:44:48--> 00:44:51

finally come to a Madani Surah. Surah Muhammad

00:44:51--> 00:44:54

is a Madani Surah consisting of 38 verses.

00:44:54--> 00:44:56

Named Surah Muhammad after

00:44:57--> 00:44:57

Muhammad

00:44:58--> 00:45:01

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

00:45:01--> 00:45:02

Named Surah Muhammad

00:45:03--> 00:45:03

for

00:45:07--> 00:45:09

that which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said in

00:45:09--> 00:45:11

his book, waladhinamanu

00:45:11--> 00:45:12

waamru salihat

00:45:13--> 00:45:13

waamanu

00:45:13--> 00:45:14

bimanuzila

00:45:14--> 00:45:15

aala

00:45:16--> 00:45:17

Muhammad.

00:45:17--> 00:45:19

That, and those who believe and do righteous

00:45:19--> 00:45:21

deeds and believe in the Quran, we revealed

00:45:21--> 00:45:22

upon Muhammad,

00:45:22--> 00:45:23

Allah

00:45:24--> 00:45:26

They do so believing it's the truth. Right?

00:45:28--> 00:45:30

Believing it's the truth from Allah to him.

00:45:32--> 00:45:35

By virtue of their belief, Allah will forgive

00:45:35--> 00:45:36

their sins.

00:45:37--> 00:45:39

And correct and amend their affairs.

00:45:39--> 00:45:41

What's the connection to the surah before? Okay.

00:45:41--> 00:45:42

Here we

00:45:43--> 00:45:44

can dive into this discussion. We have a

00:45:44--> 00:45:47

Madani Surah after a Maqki Surah. Maqan was

00:45:47--> 00:45:50

revealed years before the Madani Surah. So now

00:45:50--> 00:45:51

we have them together in the Quran even

00:45:51--> 00:45:54

though they came down years apart. And

00:45:56--> 00:45:58

to be honest, SubhanAllah, this is from the

00:45:58--> 00:45:59

eloquence of the Quran, and I said this

00:45:59--> 00:46:01

to you before, at the beginning of Ramadan.

00:46:01--> 00:46:04

That the Quran was revealed over 23 years.

00:46:04--> 00:46:06

If a writer was to write over 23

00:46:06--> 00:46:07

years, you'd see the growth of the writer

00:46:07--> 00:46:08

in the text.

00:46:08--> 00:46:11

23 years is a long time. Experience grows

00:46:11--> 00:46:12

the writing ability

00:46:12--> 00:46:15

of the writer, of the author. The Quran

00:46:15--> 00:46:16

over 23 years

00:46:16--> 00:46:19

is eloquent from the first revelation to the

00:46:19--> 00:46:21

last. And one of the proofs of this

00:46:21--> 00:46:22

is surah Muhammad

00:46:23--> 00:46:25

in its connection to Al Akhaf. Because even

00:46:25--> 00:46:27

though Al Akhaf was revealed years before

00:46:28--> 00:46:30

and Muhammad years later, wallahi if you delete

00:46:30--> 00:46:33

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, we can't delete

00:46:33--> 00:46:35

it. But if you imagine there is no

00:46:35--> 00:46:38

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim and you read the last

00:46:38--> 00:46:40

verse of Al Akaf and the first verse

00:46:40--> 00:46:41

of Surah Muhammad,

00:46:42--> 00:46:44

it just flows. You think it's it's a

00:46:44--> 00:46:44

continuation.

00:46:45--> 00:46:48

It doesn't feel, subhanAllah, that there's something disjointed

00:46:48--> 00:46:50

here. It feels like a complete

00:46:50--> 00:46:51

flow, a complete

00:46:52--> 00:46:53

continuation. And make a note of this for

00:46:53--> 00:46:55

your own reading tonight, Insha'Allah.

00:46:55--> 00:46:57

Look at the last verse of Akhaf, and

00:46:57--> 00:46:59

look at the first verse of Muhammad.

00:47:00--> 00:47:02

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala at the end of

00:47:02--> 00:47:02

the last surah, he says,

00:47:07--> 00:47:08

I told you of the prophets of absolute

00:47:08--> 00:47:09

resolve, Ibrahim,

00:47:10--> 00:47:11

sorry, Nuh, Ibrahim,

00:47:12--> 00:47:15

Musa, Lisa and Muhammad. Allah says, be patient,

00:47:15--> 00:47:15

O Muhammad,

00:47:16--> 00:47:17

as were those of

00:47:18--> 00:47:20

determination, the the the prophets and messengers of

00:47:20--> 00:47:22

resolve, and do not be impatient for them,

00:47:22--> 00:47:24

meaning for the Quraysh and their belief.

00:47:25--> 00:47:27

Allah says, it will be on the day

00:47:27--> 00:47:29

they see that which they are promised as

00:47:29--> 00:47:31

though they had not remained in this world

00:47:31--> 00:47:32

except for an hour of a day. When

00:47:32--> 00:47:34

the day of qiyamah comes, they will look

00:47:34--> 00:47:36

back and think, did we only live on

00:47:36--> 00:47:37

earth as if it was part of a

00:47:37--> 00:47:40

day? An hour of a day perhaps that

00:47:40--> 00:47:42

life was that short. When they see a

00:47:42--> 00:47:43

qiyama, they will see life to be so

00:47:43--> 00:47:44

short. SubhanAllah.

00:47:44--> 00:47:45

Allah

00:47:46--> 00:47:46

says,

00:47:47--> 00:47:47

balaar,

00:47:48--> 00:47:50

this is notification.

00:47:51--> 00:47:51

This

00:47:51--> 00:47:53

is the official warning.

00:47:53--> 00:47:55

This is the official notice.

00:47:55--> 00:47:57

At the end of akhkaf,

00:47:57--> 00:47:58

it's a revelation of intent

00:47:59--> 00:48:01

to those who are fighting Muhammad and the

00:48:01--> 00:48:04

Sahaba. Official notice has been delivered to you

00:48:04--> 00:48:05

from the heavens. Balag,

00:48:06--> 00:48:06

this is notification,

00:48:07--> 00:48:09

hand delivered to you. Allah says,

00:48:10--> 00:48:10

fahal

00:48:11--> 00:48:11

yuhulaku

00:48:12--> 00:48:13

illaqaumul fasikoon.

00:48:14--> 00:48:17

And will any nation be destroyed except because

00:48:17--> 00:48:19

of the defiant

00:48:19--> 00:48:19

disobedience

00:48:20--> 00:48:21

to Allah

00:48:22--> 00:48:24

Then Allah opens Surah Muhammad pay attention.

00:48:25--> 00:48:26

Those who disbelieve

00:48:26--> 00:48:28

and avert people from the way of Allah,

00:48:29--> 00:48:30

He will waste their deeds.

00:48:31--> 00:48:33

Do you see the do you see this?

00:48:33--> 00:48:35

How the how the last surah ended and

00:48:35--> 00:48:36

how the surah began.

00:48:37--> 00:48:38

Such continuance.

00:48:38--> 00:48:40

May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala cause us to

00:48:40--> 00:48:41

return him upon iman.

00:48:42--> 00:48:44

The contents of the surah, this is

00:48:44--> 00:48:46

a Madin Surah, not a Makkan Surah. So

00:48:46--> 00:48:48

immediately you know now what what what will

00:48:48--> 00:48:49

we find in here?

00:48:49--> 00:48:51

Legislation, Alhamdulillah. Masha'Allah.

00:48:52--> 00:48:54

And here in particular we see the rules

00:48:54--> 00:48:54

of warfare.

00:48:55--> 00:48:57

I'm not talking about jihad jihad. We've discussed

00:48:57--> 00:48:58

jihad

00:48:58--> 00:49:01

is being hijacked to only mean warfare. Jihad

00:49:01--> 00:49:03

means many things, and it was revealed and

00:49:03--> 00:49:05

the term was used before warfare was established.

00:49:05--> 00:49:06

But in Surah

00:49:07--> 00:49:09

Muhammad, it refers to warfare. And the descriptions

00:49:09--> 00:49:11

of the hypocrites and the apostates are also

00:49:11--> 00:49:14

revealed here. Now just a pearl for you

00:49:14--> 00:49:16

all, it is said that the Messenger sallallahu

00:49:16--> 00:49:18

alaihi wa sallam is to recite the surah

00:49:18--> 00:49:20

in Surat Al Maghrib. For those who feel

00:49:20--> 00:49:22

the imam takes too long in Surah Al

00:49:22--> 00:49:22

Gaisah,

00:49:25--> 00:49:27

the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam used to

00:49:27--> 00:49:29

recite surah Muhammad. And as we said, it

00:49:29--> 00:49:32

consists of how many verses? 38 verses

00:49:32--> 00:49:34

in Surat Al Maghrib.

00:49:34--> 00:49:37

And this surah also touches on the importance

00:49:37--> 00:49:39

of tadabbur, and we spoke about Tadabbur and

00:49:39--> 00:49:40

pondering over the verses of Allah.

00:49:41--> 00:49:43

I taught you about the Tadabbur of the

00:49:43--> 00:49:43

masses.

00:49:44--> 00:49:44

Remember

00:49:45--> 00:49:45

the gap analysis,

00:49:46--> 00:49:47

rule cause analysis,

00:49:47--> 00:49:49

solutions analysis, that discussion?

00:49:50--> 00:49:50

This,

00:49:51--> 00:49:53

surah as well touches on tadabur.

00:49:53--> 00:49:55

So we have a Madinah surah here telling

00:49:55--> 00:49:57

us about tadabbur as well.

00:49:58--> 00:50:00

To teach us that tadabbur is a matter

00:50:00--> 00:50:02

of the Quran from the beginning of His

00:50:02--> 00:50:03

revelation until the end.

00:50:03--> 00:50:05

Then we'll move on. Surah Al Fathih

00:50:06--> 00:50:08

Surah Al Fathih a Madani Surah.

00:50:09--> 00:50:11

By the way, there's many pearls in,

00:50:12--> 00:50:15

Surah Muhammad. In fact, let's let's listen to

00:50:15--> 00:50:16

verse number 15.

00:50:16--> 00:50:18

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala just to entice us

00:50:18--> 00:50:20

all to push and work hard this evening,

00:50:20--> 00:50:22

tells us about Jannah. Read for us about

00:50:22--> 00:50:23

Jannah.

00:50:28--> 00:50:30

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says

00:50:30--> 00:50:31

about Jannah.

00:50:32--> 00:50:33

He says, subhanahu,

00:50:33--> 00:50:36

here is a picture of the garden promised

00:50:36--> 00:50:37

to the pious believers.

00:50:44--> 00:50:46

In it, there are rivers of water that

00:50:46--> 00:50:48

remain forever pure.

00:50:54--> 00:50:56

And there are rivers of milk that are

00:50:56--> 00:50:58

forever fresh. Their taste never changes.

00:51:15--> 00:51:16

And rivers of honey

00:51:17--> 00:51:19

that is clear and pure. Who wants to

00:51:19--> 00:51:20

swim in a river of honey?

00:51:21--> 00:51:21

Mashallah.

00:51:23--> 00:51:24

Who wants to swim in a river of

00:51:24--> 00:51:25

milk? Mashallah.

00:51:26--> 00:51:28

The fathers don't want only the children. Allah

00:51:28--> 00:51:29

guide you fathers.

00:51:29--> 00:51:31

Become too attached to the dunya.

00:51:31--> 00:51:33

The children are attached to the akhirah.

00:51:33--> 00:51:35

I'm asking a question only the children are

00:51:35--> 00:51:37

putting up their hand. Why are you too

00:51:37--> 00:51:39

mature for a river of milk? When we

00:51:39--> 00:51:41

go to Jannah Tras, we will all be

00:51:41--> 00:51:41

children there.

00:51:42--> 00:51:43

Like children.

00:51:51--> 00:51:54

Allah says, all these rivers flow in it,

00:51:54--> 00:51:55

and there they will find

00:51:56--> 00:51:57

fruit of every kind.

00:52:00--> 00:52:02

And they will find forgiveness from their Lord

00:52:02--> 00:52:03

as well.

00:52:14--> 00:52:16

May Allah save us from the hellfire. Allah

00:52:16--> 00:52:18

says, how can this be compared

00:52:18--> 00:52:21

to the fate of those who are stuck

00:52:21--> 00:52:22

in the hellfire

00:52:22--> 00:52:26

and given boiling water to drink that rips

00:52:26--> 00:52:28

apart their bowels and intestines?

00:52:33--> 00:52:35

May Allah save us from heedlessness.

00:52:36--> 00:52:37

We know about the hellfire,

00:52:37--> 00:52:39

but we act like we don't know. I

00:52:39--> 00:52:40

think we agree.

00:52:41--> 00:52:42

A lot of us go about our lives

00:52:42--> 00:52:44

like we don't know there's a hellfire.

00:52:44--> 00:52:46

We're too much into people pleasing,

00:52:46--> 00:52:47

wife pleasing,

00:52:48--> 00:52:49

husband pleasing,

00:52:49--> 00:52:50

children

00:52:51--> 00:52:53

pleasing. I said to you the other day,

00:52:53--> 00:52:55

the Quran establishes a hierarchy, but not an

00:52:55--> 00:52:56

absolute hierarchy.

00:52:57--> 00:52:59

Above every hierarchy is Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,

00:52:59--> 00:53:01

even the ruler of the land. The prophet

00:53:01--> 00:53:04

sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, Follow him even if

00:53:04--> 00:53:07

he is an Abyssinian slave who becomes your

00:53:07--> 00:53:09

ruler and commands you. But,

00:53:13--> 00:53:15

There's no obedience to the creation in the

00:53:15--> 00:53:16

disobedience of the creator.

00:53:18--> 00:53:20

Why are we going about pleasing people

00:53:21--> 00:53:22

when the end is boiling water that will

00:53:22--> 00:53:24

rip our intestines apart?

00:53:25--> 00:53:26

As opposed to choosing Allah

00:53:27--> 00:53:29

over the descent and sadness of a people

00:53:29--> 00:53:31

who may blame us for decades but it

00:53:31--> 00:53:33

will end, and Allah will put us in

00:53:33--> 00:53:37

rivers of milk, and honey, and wine, and

00:53:37--> 00:53:38

water that never spoils.

00:53:39--> 00:53:40

May Allah grant us the understanding.

00:53:41--> 00:53:41

Bayib.

00:53:42--> 00:53:43

The time of revelation, we are told that

00:53:43--> 00:53:46

this surah was revealed in 1 night between

00:53:46--> 00:53:48

Makkah and Madinah in connection to the treaty

00:53:48--> 00:53:49

of Hudaybiyyah.

00:53:49--> 00:53:51

Let me take you through quickly the treaty

00:53:51--> 00:53:53

of Hudaybiyyah. We don't have time meaning to

00:53:53--> 00:53:55

go through it in detail, but I'm gonna

00:53:55--> 00:53:56

quickly summarize.

00:53:59--> 00:54:02

The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam saw a dream.

00:54:02--> 00:54:03

And in this dream,

00:54:04--> 00:54:06

he saw himself doing umrah

00:54:07--> 00:54:08

with his companions.

00:54:09--> 00:54:11

And obviously, this is at a time, remember,

00:54:11--> 00:54:13

Ahmadani Surah. They were in Madinah, they missed

00:54:13--> 00:54:15

Makkah, he left Makkah, he didn't want to

00:54:15--> 00:54:16

leave Makkah,

00:54:17--> 00:54:18

he genuinely missed Makkah.

00:54:20--> 00:54:21

And they didn't know when their time will

00:54:21--> 00:54:22

come.

00:54:23--> 00:54:24

And there was no light at the end

00:54:24--> 00:54:26

of the tunnel, things were progressing in Madinah.

00:54:26--> 00:54:27

But as for Makkah,

00:54:29--> 00:54:30

it was a distant

00:54:30--> 00:54:33

matter. And suddenly the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam

00:54:33--> 00:54:35

sees this dream. So the prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:54:36--> 00:54:36

wasallam,

00:54:37--> 00:54:37

he

00:54:38--> 00:54:40

informs his companions.

00:54:41--> 00:54:42

And

00:54:43--> 00:54:43

the prophet

00:54:45--> 00:54:45

leaves

00:54:46--> 00:54:48

immediately for umrah, not warfare

00:54:48--> 00:54:49

with 1500

00:54:49--> 00:54:51

as some sources say, but common sources say

00:54:51--> 00:54:55

1400 companions. They do not intend war.

00:54:55--> 00:54:58

They are ready for umrah. Their clothing is

00:54:58--> 00:55:00

a haram. With them are animals that you

00:55:00--> 00:55:02

would slaughter in the Haramain, meaning in the

00:55:02--> 00:55:03

Haram afwan, in the Haram boundary.

00:55:05--> 00:55:05

They've taken

00:55:06--> 00:55:08

minimal weapons with them, weapons that you would

00:55:08--> 00:55:11

need anyway because of desert bandits.

00:55:12--> 00:55:13

No intent

00:55:14--> 00:55:14

of war.

00:55:15--> 00:55:17

Driving as a group

00:55:17--> 00:55:18

through the desert,

00:55:19--> 00:55:20

passing tribes,

00:55:20--> 00:55:21

passing villages,

00:55:22--> 00:55:24

for everyone to see Islam at his glory.

00:55:25--> 00:55:27

The messenger who was alone once upon a

00:55:27--> 00:55:28

time, who was kicked out and fought by

00:55:28--> 00:55:31

his own people, He's walking back to Makkah

00:55:31--> 00:55:33

with 1500 with him, subhanallah.

00:55:33--> 00:55:35

And the Talbiyah is one of Tuhhid.

00:55:36--> 00:55:38

No idols being mentioned in their Labbeik,

00:55:39--> 00:55:39

subhanallah.

00:55:40--> 00:55:41

An amazing sight.

00:55:41--> 00:55:42

And

00:55:42--> 00:55:46

news reaches the Quraysh that Muhammad has left

00:55:46--> 00:55:47

with a large group of people.

00:55:48--> 00:55:49

The Quraysh are adamant.

00:55:50--> 00:55:52

They don't want them to come into Makkah,

00:55:52--> 00:55:54

but they also have a predicament

00:55:54--> 00:55:56

because they're not the owners of the Kaaba.

00:55:56--> 00:55:59

They are custodians of the Kaaba. The other

00:55:59--> 00:56:01

Arabs cannot be made to feel that the

00:56:01--> 00:56:03

Quraysh are now implementing

00:56:03--> 00:56:05

some visa border

00:56:05--> 00:56:07

system with regards to the Kaaba.

00:56:08--> 00:56:10

That, yes, we respect them, but there's some

00:56:10--> 00:56:11

red lines.

00:56:11--> 00:56:12

You do not own the Kaaba.

00:56:13--> 00:56:15

All the Arabs have access to it and

00:56:15--> 00:56:17

should have access to it. So the Quraysh

00:56:17--> 00:56:18

cannot

00:56:18--> 00:56:20

bar and block the Muslims

00:56:21--> 00:56:22

as we would bar and block someone from

00:56:22--> 00:56:24

entering our home. So they were in a

00:56:24--> 00:56:25

predicament as well.

00:56:26--> 00:56:28

The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam hears about

00:56:29--> 00:56:29

their,

00:56:31--> 00:56:32

concerns and sensitivities,

00:56:33--> 00:56:34

so he camps

00:56:34--> 00:56:36

at this place

00:56:36--> 00:56:38

that we call Al Hudaybiyyah,

00:56:38--> 00:56:40

and he sends with a man, ibn Affan,

00:56:41--> 00:56:42

to Makkah to negotiate

00:56:43--> 00:56:45

the matter, to explain to the Quraysh why

00:56:45--> 00:56:48

the Muslims are here, what they intend.

00:56:48--> 00:56:50

The past is the past. This has nothing

00:56:50--> 00:56:52

to do with it. We're just gonna do

00:56:52--> 00:56:53

umrah, and we're going to leave.

00:56:54--> 00:56:55

But, subhanallah,

00:56:55--> 00:56:58

rumors come out of Makkah that Uthman has

00:56:58--> 00:57:01

been killed. And immediately the prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:57:01--> 00:57:03

wa sallam mobilizes the sahabah,

00:57:04--> 00:57:05

seeking the pledge of allegiance.

00:57:06--> 00:57:07

That if Uthman is killed,

00:57:07--> 00:57:09

we got to avenge his death, we got

00:57:09--> 00:57:11

to be ready for war. We didn't come

00:57:11--> 00:57:13

for war. We don't have adequate,

00:57:13--> 00:57:14

weapons.

00:57:14--> 00:57:16

But if it has to be, it has

00:57:16--> 00:57:17

to be. Do I have your support? This

00:57:17--> 00:57:19

is the pledge of allegiance.

00:57:19--> 00:57:22

The sahaba got up, and they pledged allegiance

00:57:22--> 00:57:24

to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, and this

00:57:24--> 00:57:26

happened once they were gathered under a tree,

00:57:27--> 00:57:28

which is known as shajara

00:57:28--> 00:57:29

a Ridwan.

00:57:29--> 00:57:31

The shajara of Ridwan.

00:57:31--> 00:57:34

The shajara that that housed beneath it, the

00:57:34--> 00:57:36

people that Allah's happiness

00:57:36--> 00:57:38

descended upon. And Allah testifies

00:57:39--> 00:57:40

in the Quran

00:57:40--> 00:57:43

of the Sahaba and how pleased he is

00:57:43--> 00:57:44

with them.

00:57:44--> 00:57:46

Allah reveals it in in the Quran,

00:57:47--> 00:57:49

that Allah was pleased with those who pledged

00:57:49--> 00:57:51

their allegiance to the messenger under the tree.

00:57:52--> 00:57:54

When the Quraysh found out that, subhanallah, they're

00:57:54--> 00:57:57

pledging allegiance, so now they are

00:57:57--> 00:57:58

preparing to fight.

00:57:59--> 00:57:59

Immediately,

00:58:00--> 00:58:02

they decided that we need to send someone

00:58:02--> 00:58:04

to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam and

00:58:04--> 00:58:07

diffuse this. So they sent suhail ibn Amr.

00:58:07--> 00:58:09

Suhail comes from the word sahal, and sahal

00:58:09--> 00:58:11

means easy. And when the prophet

00:58:12--> 00:58:14

saw suhail, he said, sahoolaalaykum

00:58:15--> 00:58:18

al amr, meaning that your matter has become

00:58:18--> 00:58:19

easier than we thought.

00:58:20--> 00:58:23

Suhail sahal, subhanAllah, pray on words, alisimaalalmusamma.

00:58:24--> 00:58:26

But the prophet knew that normally Suhail is

00:58:26--> 00:58:27

sent to run negotiations.

00:58:28--> 00:58:30

And if the Quraysh are negotiating, it means

00:58:30--> 00:58:31

hold on hold on, they don't intend an

00:58:31--> 00:58:34

attack, they don't intend a war, There's scope

00:58:34--> 00:58:35

here. Let's see what he has to say.

00:58:35--> 00:58:38

And accordingly, they went into this discussion which

00:58:38--> 00:58:41

eventually led to a surah or a memorandum

00:58:41--> 00:58:42

known as Surah Al Hudaybiyyah.

00:58:43--> 00:58:45

Now Surah Al Hudaybiyyah

00:58:45--> 00:58:47

from the outset seemed like a loss for

00:58:47--> 00:58:47

the Muslims.

00:58:49--> 00:58:51

Which surah are we discussing, by the way?

00:58:52--> 00:58:52

Surah

00:58:53--> 00:58:53

Fatiha.

00:58:54--> 00:58:56

Bear this in mind. This seemed like a

00:58:56--> 00:58:58

loss for the Muslims. Why did it seem

00:58:58--> 00:58:59

like a loss for the Muslims?

00:59:00--> 00:59:00

Because

00:59:00--> 00:59:01

firstly,

00:59:02--> 00:59:05

they refused for the treaty to say arrahman

00:59:05--> 00:59:06

ar Rahim.

00:59:07--> 00:59:09

When the prophet said, bismillah arrahman arrahim, he

00:59:09--> 00:59:10

says, no no no no no no no.

00:59:10--> 00:59:11

Just bismillah.

00:59:11--> 00:59:13

We know Allah arrahmanrahem,

00:59:13--> 00:59:14

this we don't know.

00:59:14--> 00:59:16

So the prophet agreed.

00:59:16--> 00:59:16

Meaning,

00:59:18--> 00:59:20

a stakeholder to the treaty. Muhammad Rasulullah says,

00:59:20--> 00:59:22

no. No. No. No. No. Just Muhammad.

00:59:24--> 00:59:25

Ibn Abdillah.

00:59:25--> 00:59:26

Ibn Abdul Muttalib.

00:59:26--> 00:59:29

We know you with this lineage. If we

00:59:29--> 00:59:31

knew you are the messenger of Allah, believed

00:59:31--> 00:59:33

it, we wouldn't be fighting you. No Rasulullah.

00:59:33--> 00:59:35

The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam

00:59:36--> 00:59:37

rubbed it out. In fact,

00:59:38--> 00:59:40

famously it is recorded that Ali was doing

00:59:40--> 00:59:42

the writing with the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam

00:59:42--> 00:59:43

was unlettered.

00:59:43--> 00:59:45

And the prophet said rub it out, and

00:59:45--> 00:59:46

ali said, No, but Wallahi, you are the

00:59:46--> 00:59:47

Rasulullah.

00:59:47--> 00:59:49

By Allah, you are Rasulullah. It doesn't matter

00:59:49--> 00:59:51

what they say. And the prophet

00:59:52--> 00:59:54

swore clarity where are these words on this

00:59:54--> 00:59:56

page, and he himself rubbed it out with

00:59:56--> 00:59:57

his blessed hand.

00:59:58--> 00:59:59

Next point,

00:59:59--> 01:00:01

they said we want a truce

01:00:01--> 01:00:04

spanning 10 years. No fighting between us. The

01:00:04--> 01:00:05

Prophet

01:00:07--> 01:00:09

agreed. They agreed to the 10 year truce.

01:00:09--> 01:00:12

Then the negotiation led to this idea that

01:00:12--> 01:00:15

if anyone from the Quraysh left the Quraysh

01:00:15--> 01:00:17

without permission and went to Madinah,

01:00:18--> 01:00:20

The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam had to

01:00:20--> 01:00:22

send them back to Makkah. But if anyone

01:00:22--> 01:00:26

from Madinah left Madinah without permission and went

01:00:26--> 01:00:27

to Makkah,

01:00:27--> 01:00:29

the Quraysh didn't have to send them back.

01:00:30--> 01:00:32

Seems a bit lopsided.

01:00:33--> 01:00:36

They also said that the Muslims will not

01:00:36--> 01:00:38

perform umrah this year. You will go back

01:00:38--> 01:00:40

and come back next year and do umrah.

01:00:40--> 01:00:41

This is famously known in the books of

01:00:41--> 01:00:43

fiqh as Umrahul Qadha. Why is it called

01:00:43--> 01:00:45

Umrahul Qadha? Because they had to come back

01:00:45--> 01:00:46

and do the umra.

01:00:47--> 01:00:49

Now this was heavy on the heart of

01:00:49--> 01:00:52

the sahaba radiAllahu anhu Majma'i. They missed Makkah,

01:00:52--> 01:00:54

the dream of the prophet, they heard the

01:00:54--> 01:00:57

dream, we believe in the messenger, his dreams

01:00:57--> 01:00:59

are Haqq and true, what's going on here?

01:00:59--> 01:01:02

Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam goes back. He

01:01:02--> 01:01:03

tells them, right, guys, come out of your

01:01:03--> 01:01:05

haram. Slaughter your animals. This is what happens

01:01:05--> 01:01:06

if you block from going

01:01:07--> 01:01:09

for for umrah or pilgrimage,

01:01:10--> 01:01:12

then you have to slaughter and shave and

01:01:12--> 01:01:13

you come out of a haram. But you

01:01:13--> 01:01:15

have to slaughter unless you've made a condition

01:01:16--> 01:01:17

before you entered into a haram

01:01:18--> 01:01:19

that if you are prevented then,

01:01:20--> 01:01:22

your hill is at the point of prevention.

01:01:22--> 01:01:24

This is a separate fiqh discussion. The default

01:01:24--> 01:01:26

rule is once you make the intention for

01:01:26--> 01:01:26

umrah

01:01:27--> 01:01:29

and you prevent it, you slaughter an animal

01:01:29--> 01:01:31

and shave. The prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam said,

01:01:31--> 01:01:33

do this, nobody did it.

01:01:35--> 01:01:36

This was the sentiment.

01:01:37--> 01:01:39

But they weren't disrespecting the prophet sallallahu alaihi

01:01:39--> 01:01:41

wa sallam, waniyahubillah. This was not who they

01:01:41--> 01:01:43

were. But remember we said earlier, they were

01:01:43--> 01:01:45

people of high esteem. Not so?

01:01:45--> 01:01:47

Fabbim arahmatimin Allahillintallahu.

01:01:47--> 01:01:49

I remember these lessons to you guys, subhanAllah.

01:01:49--> 01:01:50

I'm sure it was this Ramadan.

01:01:51--> 01:01:52

For For you guys, it was about a

01:01:52--> 01:01:53

few years ago.

01:01:54--> 01:01:56

Remember we said Sheikh Jafar Idris, our Sheikh,

01:01:56--> 01:01:58

he deduced from this verse that the Sahaba

01:01:58--> 01:01:59

had a highest

01:01:59--> 01:02:02

self esteem. Because Allah says it was Allah's

01:02:02--> 01:02:04

mercy upon you, Muhammad, that you were gentle

01:02:04--> 01:02:06

with these companions. If you are difficult with

01:02:06--> 01:02:08

them, they would have left you. And the

01:02:08--> 01:02:10

sheikh says only people with low self esteem

01:02:10--> 01:02:11

stick to you when you're hard with them.

01:02:11--> 01:02:13

People of high self esteem, when you're hard

01:02:13--> 01:02:15

with them, they leave you. And Allah is

01:02:15--> 01:02:16

saying if you are hard with them, they

01:02:16--> 01:02:17

would have left you. Meaning, they are people

01:02:17--> 01:02:19

of high self esteem, this sahaba. They're not

01:02:19--> 01:02:21

with you because they need something. They're with

01:02:21--> 01:02:22

you because they believe what you have is

01:02:22--> 01:02:24

the haqq and the truth.

01:02:25--> 01:02:28

So they didn't disrespect the prophet sallallahu alaihi

01:02:28--> 01:02:29

wa sallam, but rather

01:02:29--> 01:02:32

their situation was the situation of of a

01:02:32--> 01:02:34

people who believed in the dream that Allah

01:02:34--> 01:02:35

made his messenger

01:02:35--> 01:02:38

see. So they were hoping that the prophet

01:02:38--> 01:02:40

sallallahu alaihi wasallam will say this, and maybe

01:02:40--> 01:02:42

Jibril will come, and the situation will change.

01:02:43--> 01:02:45

Or maybe the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam will

01:02:45--> 01:02:47

add an instruction to what he just said.

01:02:48--> 01:02:50

But they didn't, and he didn't. So he

01:02:50--> 01:02:52

walks into his tent, into his camp.

01:02:53--> 01:02:55

And his wife, Aung Salamah, is the head,

01:02:55--> 01:02:56

the mother of the believers.

01:02:56--> 01:03:00

And he's disturbed and perturbed, sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

01:03:00--> 01:03:02

And she, subhanallah,

01:03:02--> 01:03:04

and our mothers, they were beautiful in terms

01:03:04--> 01:03:07

of how they dealt with circumstances and situations.

01:03:07--> 01:03:08

Like Khadija, when we we discussed when the

01:03:08--> 01:03:10

prophet came from the mountain, how perfect was

01:03:10--> 01:03:11

she to the messenger.

01:03:12--> 01:03:13

Salamah said, You Rasulullah,

01:03:14--> 01:03:16

this is their circumstance and their situation. It's

01:03:16--> 01:03:17

a psychology.

01:03:17--> 01:03:19

Why don't you slaughter and shave? Let them

01:03:19--> 01:03:21

see you, and then see what happens.

01:03:22--> 01:03:25

And he shalallahu alaihi wasalam shaved and slaughtered.

01:03:25--> 01:03:27

He slaughtered and he shaved, and

01:03:28--> 01:03:29

they followed.

01:03:30--> 01:03:31

And as long as he was in a

01:03:31--> 01:03:32

Haram, let's wait.

01:03:34--> 01:03:35

It wasn't them disrespecting

01:03:36--> 01:03:37

that he's telling us to do it, but

01:03:37--> 01:03:39

he is in a Haram, let's wait.

01:03:39--> 01:03:41

But when they saw he left, they left.

01:03:41--> 01:03:44

And then the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam left

01:03:44--> 01:03:44

back.

01:03:45--> 01:03:47

And Umar famously said to the prophet sallallahu

01:03:47--> 01:03:48

alaihi wasallam,

01:03:49--> 01:03:49

that this

01:03:50--> 01:03:52

dream you saw the dream, and the prophet

01:03:52--> 01:03:54

sallallahu alaihi wasallam said yes. The dream didn't

01:03:54--> 01:03:56

say when we will be performing the Umrah.

01:03:57--> 01:03:58

It will happen.

01:03:58--> 01:04:00

And Allah revealed after this memorandum

01:04:01--> 01:04:02

where people felt that the Quraysh had the

01:04:02--> 01:04:03

upper hand,

01:04:06--> 01:04:08

We have opened for you, oh believers, a

01:04:08--> 01:04:09

great opening.

01:04:10--> 01:04:12

We have opened for you, oh believers, a

01:04:12--> 01:04:13

great opening.

01:04:13--> 01:04:15

This is an opening. It's not a loss.

01:04:15--> 01:04:17

You think you've lost. You feel like you've

01:04:17--> 01:04:18

lost.

01:04:18--> 01:04:21

Your animals are gone. Your ihram has gone.

01:04:21--> 01:04:24

Your umrah has gone. The treaty feels one-sided.

01:04:25--> 01:04:27

Allah says, all this is a win for

01:04:27--> 01:04:27

you, O Muslims,

01:04:28--> 01:04:28

subhanallah.

01:04:29--> 01:04:32

And not an opening. Allah says, we have

01:04:32--> 01:04:34

opened for you, O believers,

01:04:34--> 01:04:36

a great opening,

01:04:36--> 01:04:37

mumbina,

01:04:37--> 01:04:40

fathham mumbina, a clear opening. An opening that

01:04:40--> 01:04:42

is so clear, even a blind person can

01:04:42--> 01:04:44

see this is an opening.

01:04:45--> 01:04:46

And indeed it was the opening.

01:04:47--> 01:04:49

Because this treaty directly

01:04:50--> 01:04:52

led to the opening of Makkah.

01:04:52--> 01:04:54

Because part and parcel of the treaty allowed

01:04:54--> 01:04:57

the Muslims to enter into security treaties with

01:04:57--> 01:04:59

other tribes, and the Quraysh to enter into

01:04:59--> 01:05:01

security treaties with other tribes.

01:05:01--> 01:05:02

And as we know,

01:05:03--> 01:05:05

when there's when there's a security treaty,

01:05:06--> 01:05:07

and we see that today as well,

01:05:07--> 01:05:09

if they are attacked, maybe the Muslims are

01:05:09--> 01:05:11

not attacked, but a party that the Muslims

01:05:11--> 01:05:13

have a treaty with are attacked, then the

01:05:13--> 01:05:14

Muslims will help them in retaliating.

01:05:16--> 01:05:18

That's number 1. Number 2,

01:05:19--> 01:05:21

those who accepted Islam in Makkah and couldn't

01:05:21--> 01:05:22

go to Madinah,

01:05:23--> 01:05:25

they set up camp in between Makkah and

01:05:25--> 01:05:25

Madinah.

01:05:26--> 01:05:27

So we can't go to Madina, but we

01:05:27--> 01:05:28

don't want to be in Makkah.

01:05:29--> 01:05:31

And they started troubling the caravans of the

01:05:31--> 01:05:32

Quraysh.

01:05:33--> 01:05:35

They became a nuisance to the caravans of

01:05:35--> 01:05:36

the Quraysh.

01:05:36--> 01:05:38

The Quraysh didn't anticipate this

01:05:39--> 01:05:40

when this treaty was signed,

01:05:41--> 01:05:43

So this affected the economy in Mecca. It

01:05:43--> 01:05:45

weakened the Quraysh.

01:05:45--> 01:05:48

Over time, it became the economy became weakened.

01:05:50--> 01:05:51

And then eventually,

01:05:52--> 01:05:54

some elements from the Quraysh attacked the tribe

01:05:54--> 01:05:56

that had a treaty with the Muslims. And

01:05:56--> 01:05:57

famously Abu Sufyan comes out,

01:05:58--> 01:06:01

and he goes to Mu'awiy ibn Abu Sufyan,

01:06:01--> 01:06:03

if my memory serves me right,

01:06:03--> 01:06:04

and says

01:06:05--> 01:06:06

that have you seen what's happened? And he

01:06:06--> 01:06:08

says what's the problem? He goes but now

01:06:08--> 01:06:10

they have a treaty with Muhammad, they're going

01:06:10--> 01:06:11

to come after us. And no doubt they

01:06:11--> 01:06:13

knew the Muslims were going up and up

01:06:13--> 01:06:15

and up as the months progressed.

01:06:15--> 01:06:17

And Makkah was going down, and down, and

01:06:17--> 01:06:19

weaker, and weaker as the months progressed.

01:06:20--> 01:06:21

And lo and behold, before they knew it,

01:06:21--> 01:06:23

the Prophet was camped outside Makkah,

01:06:24--> 01:06:25

with the believers,

01:06:25--> 01:06:26

in numbers,

01:06:27--> 01:06:28

in a manner,

01:06:28--> 01:06:29

with honor

01:06:29--> 01:06:30

that the Quraysh

01:06:31--> 01:06:33

had no choice with. Abu Sufyan had to

01:06:33--> 01:06:35

go, and he himself had to hand over

01:06:35--> 01:06:36

the keys effectively.

01:06:37--> 01:06:39

He came back to Makkah and said, guys,

01:06:39--> 01:06:40

I have nothing for you except those who

01:06:40--> 01:06:42

are in the masjid will be safe, and

01:06:42--> 01:06:43

those who are in their home will be

01:06:43--> 01:06:45

safe. It's done.

01:06:50--> 01:06:53

This is the nuts and bolts and the

01:06:53--> 01:06:54

summary of this

01:06:54--> 01:06:55

particular

01:06:55--> 01:06:56

Surah.

01:06:56--> 01:06:58

One verse to share with you from it.

01:06:58--> 01:07:01

Amongst amongst and amidst many. And this is

01:07:01--> 01:07:02

I said the verse will tie to the

01:07:02--> 01:07:05

previous verse I was talking about. That we

01:07:06--> 01:07:07

are with Allah

01:07:07--> 01:07:09

dependent on Allah being virtuous with us.

01:07:10--> 01:07:11

Allah describes the believers.

01:07:12--> 01:07:15

Allah describes the believers. Muhammadur Rasulullah.

01:07:15--> 01:07:18

Allah says Muhammadur Rasulullah, then he describes the

01:07:18--> 01:07:20

sahaba with him. And he describes the characteristics

01:07:20--> 01:07:21

of the sahaba.

01:07:21--> 01:07:23

And one thing that he says, and this

01:07:23--> 01:07:25

subhanAllah is missed many of us miss this

01:07:25--> 01:07:27

when we read the verse,

01:07:27--> 01:07:29

but subhanAllah, one of the scholars of tafsir,

01:07:30--> 01:07:31

he plucked it out, and I thought subhanallah,

01:07:31--> 01:07:33

what an amazing benefit.

01:07:34--> 01:07:36

He said Allah described them as

01:07:39--> 01:07:40

Allah didn't

01:07:41--> 01:07:42

say

01:07:43--> 01:07:45

That they are a group of people

01:07:45--> 01:07:46

who seek

01:07:47--> 01:07:48

benevolence from Allah,

01:07:49--> 01:07:50

not reward from Allah.

01:07:52--> 01:07:53

Look how Allah describe them.

01:07:55--> 01:07:57

What what what what what are we saying

01:07:57--> 01:08:00

here? They seek benevolence from Allah, not reward

01:08:00--> 01:08:01

from Allah. Meaning,

01:08:02--> 01:08:04

the ayah doesn't say reward, the ayah says

01:08:04--> 01:08:06

benevolence. That these sahabah,

01:08:06--> 01:08:07

they acknowledged

01:08:08--> 01:08:10

that they too had weaknesses in their worship

01:08:10--> 01:08:12

of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

01:08:13--> 01:08:15

That their worship was not worth the reward

01:08:15--> 01:08:17

that Allah promised, but the reward will come

01:08:17--> 01:08:19

to them if Allah is merciful and benevolent

01:08:20--> 01:08:20

to them.

01:08:23--> 01:08:25

But the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, he said

01:08:25--> 01:08:27

to them, none of you will enter Jannah

01:08:27--> 01:08:29

except with the mercy of Allah.

01:08:29--> 01:08:31

And they said, what about you, you Rasulullah?

01:08:31--> 01:08:32

He said, even me.

01:08:33--> 01:08:35

I will only enter if Allah showers his

01:08:35--> 01:08:38

mercy upon me, drowns me in his mercy.

01:08:38--> 01:08:40

If I can be eloquent with the Arabic

01:08:40--> 01:08:40

words.

01:08:41--> 01:08:42

Subhanallah.

01:08:42--> 01:08:43

May Allah

01:08:43--> 01:08:46

drown us in his mercy, in a month

01:08:46--> 01:08:46

of mercy,

01:08:47--> 01:08:49

on a night of mercy, whilst we are

01:08:49--> 01:08:49

going

01:08:50--> 01:08:51

through an act of mercy.

01:08:54--> 01:08:56

Then we have Surat Al Hujrat, but I

01:08:56--> 01:08:57

don't want to take this longer. So I'm

01:08:57--> 01:08:58

gonna pause here

01:08:59--> 01:09:00

with your permission, we run a little bit

01:09:00--> 01:09:01

behind with the tafsir.

01:09:02--> 01:09:03

We won't go

01:09:04--> 01:09:04

tarawih,

01:09:06--> 01:09:08

and surah because we're covering many Surahs now.

01:09:08--> 01:09:10

It's not like 1 Surah. It's like as

01:09:10--> 01:09:12

the the the the ayat, carry on and

01:09:12--> 01:09:14

the nights go by, we're gonna increase in

01:09:14--> 01:09:17

terms of our Surahs, which makes things longer.

01:09:17--> 01:09:19

But we have the 29th night, and we

01:09:19--> 01:09:22

have the 30th night as well. So inshallah,

01:09:22--> 01:09:22

we will,

01:09:23--> 01:09:25

catch up. And with the last Jews of

01:09:25--> 01:09:25

the Quran,

01:09:27--> 01:09:29

given the sheer amount of surahs that we

01:09:29--> 01:09:30

have therein,

01:09:31--> 01:09:33

the idea is not to do the 30th

01:09:33--> 01:09:34

of the Jews this Ramadan

01:09:35--> 01:09:35

in Darussalam.

01:09:37--> 01:09:38

But the idea

01:09:38--> 01:09:39

is

01:09:39--> 01:09:42

to continue with the tafsir program

01:09:42--> 01:09:43

after Ramadan

01:09:43--> 01:09:44

in Darussalam,

01:09:45--> 01:09:47

the details of which will be shared to

01:09:47--> 01:09:50

you, and that program will entail us going

01:09:50--> 01:09:53

through some of the 29th Jews, that which

01:09:53--> 01:09:55

we can't finish this Ramadan, and the 30th

01:09:55--> 01:09:56

Jews as well,

01:09:56--> 01:09:58

in slower fashion.

01:09:59--> 01:10:00

Aya baaya,

01:10:01--> 01:10:02

a bit more detail,

01:10:02--> 01:10:04

connecting the Surahs together.

01:10:06--> 01:10:08

So that's the idea that the management have

01:10:08--> 01:10:09

approached me with me, Allah bless them, that

01:10:09--> 01:10:11

they want to see this continue after Ramadan.

01:10:12--> 01:10:13

But I said to them the challenge is

01:10:13--> 01:10:14

to see if we have the Ummah after

01:10:14--> 01:10:15

Ramadan.

01:10:16--> 01:10:17

That the Ummah is saying, allahi, we need

01:10:17--> 01:10:19

to be have more programs in the Masjid,

01:10:19--> 01:10:21

but Ramadan is special. I told the brothers,

01:10:21--> 01:10:22

I said, look management,

01:10:22--> 01:10:24

you're getting a lot of feedback. Allah bless

01:10:24--> 01:10:26

them. But this is from the Barakah of

01:10:26--> 01:10:27

Ramadan in the Quran.

01:10:27--> 01:10:29

Shawwal is different to Ramadan. And by the

01:10:29--> 01:10:31

time we get to Muharram, Allah will understand.

01:10:33--> 01:10:35

But we will try inshallah, inshallah.

01:10:36--> 01:10:38

So we'll stop here for tonight at the

01:10:38--> 01:10:40

end of Surah Al Fath, and inshallah tomorrow

01:10:40--> 01:10:42

we will continue from Surah Alhujurat

01:10:42--> 01:10:42

biinnillah,

01:10:43--> 01:10:45

an important Surah because it's filled with manners,

01:10:46--> 01:10:48

morals, and etiquettes as well. I love you

01:10:48--> 01:10:49

all for the sake of Allah. May Allah

01:10:49--> 01:10:52

subhanahu wa ta'ala forgive our past, inspire our

01:10:52--> 01:10:55

futures, accept our Ramadan thus far. Bless what

01:10:55--> 01:10:57

remains and make us from the people who

01:10:57--> 01:10:59

have witnessed the night of power and decree

01:10:59--> 01:11:02

and virtue, and reward us the rewards that

01:11:02--> 01:11:03

we seek from this night and more.

01:11:04--> 01:11:05

And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make us

01:11:05--> 01:11:07

from those written to be freed from the

01:11:07--> 01:11:11

hellfire, to enter paradise without hisab and adab,

01:11:11--> 01:11:14

without accountability and punishment. And may Allah

01:11:15--> 01:11:16

gather us in alfirdos

01:11:17--> 01:11:19

with the family of Al Quran

01:11:19--> 01:11:22

and our parents and our children and our

01:11:22--> 01:11:24

spouses and our loved ones in the hereafter

01:11:25--> 01:11:28

so that we can sit together and bask

01:11:28--> 01:11:30

in the shade of the Quran as we

01:11:30--> 01:11:32

lived in the sun of the Quran, in

01:11:32--> 01:11:33

Quran in the dunya.

01:11:32--> 01:11:33

Quran in the dunya.
